Sunset tonight marks the start of Rosh Hashanah, often known as Jewish New Year.
I would like to wish all my Jewish readers Shanah Tovah, (a good year) and may it be a new year of blessing, peace, prosperity, sweetness and joy both to you, and all humanity.
May you be sealed and inscribed in the Book of Life by G-d for a good year.

Here is the part of the Bible that describes the instruction to mark the Head of the Year it is from Leviticus 23: 23-25
23 And HaShem spoke unto Moses, saying:
24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall be a solemn rest unto you, a memorial proclaimed with the blast of horns, a holy convocation.
25 Ye shall do no manner of servile work; and ye shall bring an offering made by fire unto HaShem.
