I don’t know the political background of this person who commented on a story about an appallingly bad decision of the British court and administration systems, over at Blazing Cat Fur, but it is comment that stands out as being a common sense view.

Great Britain, like the U.S. has had lots of immigration. Most have done fine. The problem is that they didn’t expect an influx of immigrants who didn’t want to culturally conform. Muslims.
Maybe the politicians haven’t woken from their cultural relativistic dreamworld yet, but the populace has. It takes time for democracy to work. But, hopefully, it will.”
It normally takes a generation, maybe two to integrate into a society when you move there as an immigrant. This was the experience of the United States and it has also been the experience of British Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, West Indians etc. What we see too often in the world of British Islam is a reverse of what has been experienced in the past. Instead of becoming more integrated and learning to meld the best of what they brought, with the best that Britain can offer, they have de-integrated as generations have gone on. You are far more likely to see a young, British born Muslim being a dangerous zealot with a burning hatred for the UK, then their parents who may have had a much more pragmatic attitude to the culture of the UK.
This commentator is correct, we the people are starting to take off the culturally relativistic blinkers, and our politicians need to do the same. That’s why at every possible election you should, where you can, vote for the most Islamo-sceptic candidate who has the best chance of making an impact.

And THAT is your proof that it has NOT worked!!
If it had, the arseholes would not feel the compulsion to describe them selves as anything but “British.”
Plain and simple.
The addition of “Jewish”, “Sikhs”, “XYZ,” etc shows, after HOW many generations(?) that they have NOT integrated.
People can have different religious beliefs, and be identifiable as being members of such faiths, and still be British. The positive contribution made by many people in these other groups when compared to the followers of Islam, is startling. Look at the welfare take up rate of Muslims in Britain roughly 48% male and 70% claiming benefits or are economically inactive, that is NOT a contribution to society. There is also in my mind no question as to the loyalty to Britain of Sikhs, whereas there is a considerable amount of justifiable question as to the loyalty of Muslims in Britain.
Really?
What religion is “West Indian” then?
That should also have read ‘cultures’ as well as ‘religions’. My error.
