This is an extremely disturbing story from The Bolton News, with additional comments from the counterjihad blogger Kafircrusader.
A science teacher from Bolton, someone you would assume who has the sort of technical knowledge that would be useful on a battlefield, has been arrested for plotting to go to Syria to take part in Jihad there.
The Bolton News said:
“A SCIENCE teacher at a Bolton school has been arrested on suspicion of preparing for acts of terrorism in war-torn Syria.
Jamshed Javeed, who teaches at Sharples High School, was arrested by the police’s regional counter terrorism unit during the Christmas holidays.
The 29-year-old, who lives in Levenshulme, Manchester, was arrested on suspicion of engaging in conduct in preparation for terrorist acts in Syria.
Javeed, who taught years seven to 11, was arrested on Sunday, December 22 and has been bailed until March 5.
He has been suspended from his job while police investigate his travel to the Middle East.
It is understood that Javeed has not travelled to Syria, but is alleged to have been preparing to do so.
The violence in war-torn Syria started in March, 2011.
Since then, more than 100,000 are estimated to have died in the clashes between President Bashar al-Assad’s government and rebel forces who want him out.
A police spokesman said: “The investigation focuses on concerns over an individual travelling to Syria for purposes that are as yet unknown, but are believed to potentially involve terrorism.
“There is nothing to suggest that any of the wider community in Manchester has been under threat.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said of the arrest:
“There is no evidence at this time to suggest this is in any way related to the man’s profession.”
Many others, including myself, would say ‘yeah, right’ to that statement. Although there may be no evidence at this time for any link to this teachers background knowledge, it is plain to see that those with technical or scientific aptitude are very useful for insurgent groups wishing to develop more destructive munitions and weapons.
This arrest seems to have really freaked out the school and they’ve gone positively overboard with statements denying that the school had any knowledge of Javeed’s alleged activities and assuring parents that this suspected Jihadist was not a threat to any of the pupils at the school.
What was interesting to me was this comment from a neighbour of Javeed who told the Bolton News:
“A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “I’m shocked. I don’t know the family but I say hello to them in the street and they seem like nice people.”
The man said the family had lived at the address for “a number of years”.
I wonder if the description ‘nice people’, to describe those allegedly suffering from Sudden Jihad Syndrome, will be used a similar way to how the phrase ‘he kept himself to himself’ is used, in news reports, by neighbours of apprehended serial killers? No-one knows when it will be that a random Muslim may freak and suffer from Sudden Jihad Syndrome, and that is what makes the ideology of Islam so damn dangerous. It’s followers have both the capacity and the theological encouragement to go rogue at any time.
In an earlier report on this story from Kafircrusaders, it seems that pupils at the school were sceptical about whether or not this teacher was a wrong ‘un or not.
Kafircrusaders reported:
“As news spread of his arrest, students from Sharples High School took to social media to express surprise. One pupil wrote: “Mr Javeed is the nicest person, just because he wanted to go Syria and is on bail doesn’t mean he’s a terrorist”.
Oh the naivety of youth! This comment also raises the question, why is this guy on bail? If he is suspected of preparing to travel to Syria for the purposes of terrorism, then why isn’t he on remand behind bars? The police and the courts are quick enough to remand in custody for other offences, surely ‘preparing for terrorism’ should be on that list of charges and situations where there should be a presumption that the suspect would be remanded in custody. What’s to stop a bailed alleged Jihadist from skipping the country in the boot of a friends car, or exiting Britain on forged documents. It is madness, utter madness to leave those involved or suspected of being involved, in Jihadist activity on the outside.
Kafircrusader added in their introduction to this story:
“Muslim extremists have infiltrated our society at every level. Even those who portray themselves as respectable and have good jobs. Those Muslims who you wouldn’t expect to be top of the list of potential terrorists. Yet they prove time and time again that nothing is what it seems or what your told with Islam. “
To have a science teacher arrested on suspicion of this sort of activity should cause many people to worry. I doubt also that this case is unique. There are hundreds of ‘British’ Muslims fighting jihad in Syria and probably helping to commit the sort of gross atrocities that are happening there.
These jihadists are not only going to be a problem for Syria, they will become a future problem for the rest of us as well. The Syrian situation is causing the British Islamic fifth column to wake up and the result I’m afraid is going to be pretty nasty. Mix hundreds of Jihadis all battle-hardened and pumped up on Islamo-fascist indoctrination and testosterone with a country like Britain, led by politicians who fail to see the problem they’ve created, and you have a formula for disaster.
Soon every town could have its own resident crackpot violent Jihadist, or proto-Jihadist. Not a very comforting thought is it?
A few years ago the govt was saying around 3000 uk Muslims had received training in jihadist camps in Afghan/pakistan. Around the same time it became known that lot of Taliban radio intercepts were spoken in UK regional accents, notably from the Wakefield area. This was before Syria. Add to this the easy availability of military grade weapons available on the black market in the uk. What could possibly go wrong?
