A ‘fifth column’ is defined by some dictionaries as: ‘A group of people who act traitorously and subversively out of a secret sympathy with an enemy of their country.” It was originally coined during the Spanish Civil War by supporters of the fascist General Franco who said that they had four columns of troops marching to Madrid and another fifth column of supporters and sympathisers already living within the city.
When I read a recent story from the Birmingham Mail about how Muslims in the city are unwilling to report terror plots or members of their community who are involved in terrorism to the police, I was starkly reminded of the phrase ‘fifth column’. An academic study of Muslims in Birmingham found that a large number of Birmingham Muslims would not engage with the police over terrorism issues. Here’s part of the Birmingham Mail story. As is usual policy for Fahrenheit211 the original text is in italics and my comments are in plain text.
The Birmingham Mail said:
A damning report from city academics has revealed that some Muslim parents in Birmingham do not trust police and would not speak out if their children travelled to Syria.
I think the reality of the situation is that it’s more then just ‘some’ Muslim parents who would not speak out if their families were involved in jihad, I think the word they are looking for is ‘a lot’.
Researchers Dr Imran Awan and Dr Surinder Guru conducted focus groups with parents to explore how they view the current counter-terrorism policing strategy employed by West Midlands Police.
Bearing in mind that West Midlands Police are one of the most Islamopandering police forces in the country, this should tell us a great deal about the pro-Jihad attitudes of Muslims and the utter failure of WMP’s ‘softly, softly’ method of dealing with Islam and the problems it has brought to Birmingham.
“The data from the research study has found that Muslim community members are increasingly finding the partnership with the police service problematic”, said Dr Awan, Associate Professor of Criminology at Birmingham City University.
Let’s look at this word ‘problematic’ for a second. What Dr Awan is saying is that these Muslims find being loyal citizens who want to do their bit to counter violent Islamic extremism ‘problematic’. How can this be anything other than an admission that Birmingham is home to a massive fifth column of jihad-friendly Muslims? The answer is it cannot be seen as anything else but an admission that a large number of the Muslims of Birmingham are completely and utterly disloyal to the UK and its people.
“The parents we spoke to were worried about the lack of support for Muslim families and they feared that anyone who had gone to Syria would be arrested and have their citizenship removed if they spoke out.”
Well maybe they should be arrested and have their citizenship removed? All too often whenever a Muslim has been caught out travelling to places like Syria for the purposes of Jihad or been caught out planning terror in the UK representatives of the Muslim community nearly always say ‘we didn’t know’. This excuse is really wearing a bit thin now and it ‘s time that the State started to play hardball with Britain’s Muslims. It should be a ‘no brainer’ for loyal Muslims, if indeed there are any, to want to keep this country safe by reporting family members who are sympathetic to jihadist terror.
The report said the parents all had children aged between 14 and 23.
The mothers and fathers were split into focus groups and had been drawn together from different areas of the city, including Sparkbrook, Washwood Heath, Alum Rock, Sparkhill and Stechford.
At least one of the areas mentioned, Sparkbrook, is becoming known as ‘Jihad central’ because of the ease with which Jihadis and jihad sympathisers can operate.
Participant comments included: “I don’t trust the police so I would not tell them,” and “I would not report them to the police, because that’s not what parents do. We need to educate them not to travel there in the first place.
I’m trying not to be too harsh here but ‘disloyal bastards’ is the phrase that comes to mind when I read this passage. The Muslim community need to realise that it’s not the internet or peer pressure that is encouraging their young people to become jihadis, it is Islam and the Koran itself that is doing that.
“If I told the police they would then arrest me and my children.”
Well maybe it’s a case that these families deserve to be arrested? They certainly don’t deserve to be continue to be pandered to which has been the policy of West Midlands Police for a number of years.
In December 2014 two former Birmingham school pals were each originally jailed for 13 years after one of their mothers called in police to tell them they had travelled to Syria to fight.
Yusuf Sarwar and Mohammed Ahmed, who were both aged 22 at the time, both admitted a terror charge each at Woolwich Crown Court.
Former Birmingham City University student Sarwar and unemployed Ahmed travelled to Syria via Turkey in May 2013 and stayed in the country for eight months fighting with Al-Qaida-inspired rebels.
The pair were caught when Sarwar’s mum handed his ‘goodbye’ letter to anti-terror cops
What this particular case illustrates is that we have one, yes one, loyal Muslim in a sea of treasonous, disloyal and anti-British Muslims.
The Birmingham Mail added:
The academics who conducted the Birmingham study said the participant responses indicated influence by levels of historical mistrust between Muslim communities and the police.
The reason there is a mistrust is primarily because Muslims have behaved badly and made themselves subject to increased police interest.
“The central contradiction appears to be that parents are implicitly held to be responsible for the actions of their children by the police, yet the parents are adamant that the responsibility is not theirs and that they are relatively powerless”, said Dr Guru, Lecturer in Social Work at University of Birmingham.
To a certain extent the parents are responsible for their children’s actions. After all they are the ones who pumped the violent ideology of Islam into their children in the first place. They are also the ones who tell their children to call a violent 7th century paedophile murderer, robber and rapist called Mohammed an example of human perfection.
This is yet another example of Muslims saying ‘not me guv’nor, it’s someone or something else’s fault’. It’s time the rest of us, including the police, stopped believing this guff. Muslims and Muslims alone are responsible for Islamic violence, Islamic sex crime and Islamic jihad. I’ve had enough of Muslims trying to offload the responsibilites for their own crap onto others. If they want to live in an advanced society, then they should started behaving in a manner more suitable to such a society, and not like the fatalistic and savage followers of a third world death cult.
The report is just more excuses by Muslims and for Islam and many of us, including myself, have had enough of these Muslim excuses.
