It never fails to amaze me just how useless the dishonest ‘Islamophobia’ monitors Tell Mama are with fact checking, or even making sure that the organisations that they publicise on their social media platforms are all that they say they are. Here we have another example of how they have yet again failed to undertake due diligence on who they publicise or who they use in order to promote themselve or polish Tell Mama’s increasingly tarnished image.
Following the incident near the terror-linked Finsbury Park mosque where, on the 19th June 2017 a crazed man allegedly deliberately drove a hired van into a group of Muslims, the mendacious grievance mongering taqiyya artists of Tell Mama have been milking this crime for all that is worth. For them, having what could be a real anti Muslim attack is manna from heaven, as so often they have had to rely on fake ‘Islamophobia’ cases, such as the Birmingham woman who lied about being verbally assaulted in the street or the testimonies of known mentally ill people claiming that she also had been abused.
But in their eagerness to exploit this story they’ve failed to do even the most basic of checking about one of the groups that they are promoting on their Twitter time-line. It’s a basic rule of writing, especially factual writing, that you should check who you are quoting to make sure that they are genuine. I always undertake due diligence when new people pop up on my Gab.ai time-line following me and I don’t automatically follow them back until I’ve gone back over their posts or done a bit of digging to find out who they are. The reason I do this is to ensure that as far as possible I don’t follow people or groups who I would vehemently disagree with, such as neo-Nazis for instance. This is because I have no time for jackboot lickers and don’t really want to associated with them.
However it seems that this basic level fact checking is beyond the capabilities of either the staff of Tell Mama, or their founder, the mendacious grievance monger in chief Fiyaz Mughal. What they’ve done is to promote on their Twitter time-line a fake ‘Anne Frank’ group. They are promoting on their Twitter platform the words of a group called the Anne Frank Centre for Mutual Respect. Now despite the group’s name, this group has nothing to do with the legitimate organisations that operate in Anne Frank’s name or which have connections with Anne’s father Otto Frank, the Frank family or which are sanctioned by the Anne Frank estate.
The reality of the situation is that the Anne Frank Centre for Mutual Respect is merely a Left wing front group formed by some activists from the gay Left who also have little if anything to do with the Jewish community either in the USA where they are based or elsewhere. A brief search of the internet would have shown that this group was dodgy but this sort of research seems to be something that Tell Mama are unable to do. Not only that but online publications have exposed the Anne Frank Centre for Mutual Respect as a leftist front group and nothing more.
Back in February 2017 the online publication Frontpage Magazine exposed the Anne Frank Centre for Mutual Respect for what they are which is a leftist group which is bugger all to do with the legitimate organisations that operate using the Anne Frank name. Here’s the full article as published by Frontpage magazine.
Frontpage Magazine said:
Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl murdered by the Nazis. She left behind a bestselling diary and a whole lot of groups trying to profit from her legacy. There is a tangled network of organizations all claiming her name. Some have lost legal battles over it. And some Anne Frank organizations are downright anti-Semitic.
In 2004, an exhibition in the Anne Frank Museum compared former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to Adolf Hitler. The former Soviet dissident, Natan Sharansky, then a Israeli government minister, reacted indignantly , saying the museum was “showing contempt for the memory of the six million who were murdered in the Holocaust.”
In a recent report on xenophobia and racism written by the Anne Frank Foundation, it presented the Arabs’ conflict against Israel from a Palestinian Arab perspective: “There’s a balance between the random suicide attacks by the Palestinians and the fact that Israel isn’t worried about civilian casualties and collective punishment. Israel pushes Palestinians economically in a corner and humiliates them psychologically”.
The Anne Frank organization currently in the news is the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect. Its two top leaders, Steven Goldstein and David Smith were gay rights activists from New Jersey. Smith is not even Jewish. It claims to be, “a progressive voice for social justice”. That seems to mean two gay rights activists advocating for Muslim migrants.
Statement of Steven Goldstein, Executive Director of the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect, on President Trump’s acknowledgment of Antisemitism today:
“The President’s sudden acknowledgement is a Band-Aid on the cancer of Antisemitism that has infected his own Administration. His statement today is a pathetic asterisk of condescension after weeks in which he and his staff have committed grotesque acts and omissions reflecting Antisemitism, yet day after day have refused to apologize and correct the record. Make no mistake: The Antisemitism coming out of this Administration is the worst we have ever seen from any Administration.
Steven Goldstein had no problem when Obama smeared the Jews and aided a nuclear terror state plotting to murder millions of Jews. But Steven Goldstein is a gay rights activist from New Jersey. He also worked for a number of Senate Democrats. He has as much to do with Anne Frank as I have with the NAACP.
The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect used to be called Anne Frank Center USA. It put Goldstein in charge and adopted a non-Jewish mission.
With Goldstein’s hiring, the Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect not only adopts a new name, but also a wider mission. To date, the organization has focused largely on the history of Anne Frank and the Holocaust, with forays into addressing contemporary prejudice and discrimination. Now the organization, reflecting the Mutual Respect in its new name, will significantly broaden its work on contemporary issues to become a national leader in exposing and fighting hate.
The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect currently exploits Anne Frank’s memory to promote the murder of more Jews through the migration of Muslim “refugees”. This, not “anti-Semitism” is what interests the Center.
It was extremely easy for me to find out that not only is this group falsely operating in Anne Frank’s name and is not connected with other legitimate Anne Frank badged groups but also held favourable views about Iran, a nation that has promised to wipe out the Jews of Israel. This begs the question: If I can undertake due diligence on the sort of stuff I repost or the sort of people I follow then why cannot a lavishly taxpayer funded organisation such as Tell Mama do the same?
Here’s the Tweet from the Tell Mama time line that promoted the fake Anne Frank group.

Tell Mama is a pretty disgusting, dishonest and troublesome group at the best of times, what with the fake ‘Islamophobia’ stories they promote and also their use of questionable statistics from equally questionable academics from places like Birmingham or Teeside, but this faux pas was pretty bad. Tell Mama and indeed Fiyaz Mughal himself have put a lot of effort into sucking up to the movers and shakers in the British Jewish communal establishment. But, Tell Mama have shocked many by promoting a group of Jew haters posing as friends of the Jewish community. This is not what we should be expecting from a group that we the taxpayer are funding to the tune of £181,000 per year, money that many Britons may think could be far better spent elsewhere.
