If there has been one thing that has been constant in the ongoing religious conflict between the Israelis and the Arab Muslims then it has been the extent that the Arab Muslims have lied. The leaders of the Arab Muslims in places like Gaza and in Judea and Samaria can be shown to have lied, lied and lied again about the conflict and the history of it.
Arab Muslims in Israel, have consistently cried over dead terrorists, whipped up hatred of their Jewish neighbours and told all manner of untruths in order to make themselves look less like violent hate-filled savages and more like victims. The Arab Muslims of the area have refused many different olive branches of peace offered by the Israelis. Worse still, even when the Arab Muslims have agreed to live in peace with the Israelis these agreements have often been broken by the Arab Muslims. The violence and Jew hatred that permeates Arab Muslim society in the area is never far from the surface and often can erupt in deadly violence.
The ‘Palestinians’, for this is what the Arab Muslims especially in places like Judea and Samaria call themselves, have sadly managed to capture the narrative to a large extent. They have convinced a large number of mainstream media outlets that the ‘Palestinians’ are oppressed victims and not, as they are in reality, hate-filled thugs.
However, there are some people and organisations fighting back against the false narrative promulgated by the ‘Palestinians’ and some of them are doing it with a great deal of humour. One organisation that has hit out at the ‘Palestinian’ lies is the Israeli comedy show Latma TV.
Latma have put out a truly brilliant video parodying the Meghan Traynor song ‘All About the Bass’ which is entitled ‘All about the facts’. The video opens with a ‘Palestinian’ functionary denying storing rockets in a kindergarten and singing ‘We lie about the facts (because it works)’ and also denying that there was ever a Jewish presence in the area now encompassed by Israel.
This is an excellent video and well worth a watch. It just shows what can be done with humour and liars and false narratives can be exposed. Tyrants, ideologues and the mendacious hate to be laughed at, it discomforts them and attacks their power. This is why in authoritarian regimes satire is often the first thing to be censored by the state and why we should continue to mock those, such as the dishonest ‘Palestinians’ who truly deserve the sort of mockery Latma TV gives them.
