There’s a very interesting post on the White Sun of the Desert blog that I noticed this morning. It is based around a TV appearance in Australia by Laurie Penny one of Britain’s most visible public Left wingers who appeared alongside the publisher of the MuslimGirl website.
The MuslimGirl publisher, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh, who was brought up in the US state of New Jersey but who went with her family to Jordan in 2005 in order to escape ‘Islamophobia’. However the ‘Islamophobia’ that she whined about either didn’t exist or wasn’t so serious, that it prevented her from re entering the USA and getting a degree at Rutgers University and building a career for herself.
Anyway on this TV show in Australia Amani Al-Khatahtbeh said that the problem was not the policies that people had voted for when they voted for President Trump, but the voters themselves. She arrogantly said that there should be no tolerance for the views of those who voted for President Trump and that he should have been denied airtime to promote his views. This is the sort of Left that we are dealing with here folks, a Left that cannot comprehend that there may be other views than that of their own. Other voices are to be silenced or forbidden and hidden. Al-Khatahtbeh also wittered on about ‘Neo Nazis’ and ‘regressive’ and ‘racist’ Trump supporters.
So far it seems that this person is another of the usual Lefty/Islamic mouths on legs that perpetually whine about their ‘victimhood’ or who promote their own particular brand of divisive identity politics. However what really caught my eye and which made wish to add this as a ‘From Elsewhere’ excerpt are these passages from White Sun of the Desert

Leaving aside the childish, cartoonish portrayal of Trump, his campaign, and his supporters that contributed to his being elected in the first place, Al-Khatahtbeh is saying that nobody who disagrees with her should be allowed to run for office and present their policies. Sure, it’s dressed up as anti-racism but the definition of racism is now so broad it basically means anyone who isn’t a Democrat or acting like one.
With the election of Obama, the political classes and their lackeys thought the battle was won and their politics would prevail forever. They believed they’d silenced any opposing voices and they had the run of the place. Some may even have equated the silence for satisfaction, but most would be content just to keep the other side silent. As I have said many times, Trump’s election was a warning shot across the bows of the political class that there is no such consensus on the future of American politics and they’d better start listening to people. Having thought the other side had surrendered and laid down their arms, Trump’s election has shaken the likes of Al-Khatahtbeh to the core. This is why they’re lashing out with unhinged statements like the one above.
As I am fond of saying, Trump is a symptom, not a cause. And as I have argued recently, Americans are rather fortunate that the symptom came in the form of an elderly billionaire whose worst habit is shooting his mouth off. It could have been very much worse. What Al-Khatahtbeh and her ilk don’t realise is that it was precisely the shutting down of rational political discourse and putting topics such as immigration and Islam out of bounds for debate that prompted millions to vote for Trump. He said things that no-one else would, and it propelled him into the White House. If the political classes and lackeys like Al-Khatahtbeh succeed in their efforts to silence Americans, they will likely respond by voting in an absolute bastard who will ensure their side prevails in future – using exactly the same methods and laws that Al-Khatahtbeh’s lot used on them.

This is Leftist authoritarianism on steroids from the likes of Al-Khatahtbeh. It’s a call for the imposition on everybody, by force of law or arms if necessary, views that she can approve of. It’s monstrous arrogance and as White Sun says, President Trump is a symptom of what happens when people get fed up with being censored or subjected to gratuitious and often untrue insults. The Left created the situation for President Trump to emerge with their bullying, their self sanctimony, and their oft displayed naked hatred for Americans who respect what America is consider themselves patriotic. What the Left want is often something so horrible and so restrictive or even evil that it’s morally correct in my view that the sort of authoritarian views of the likes of Amani Al-Khatahtbeh are resisted, mocked and publicised at every opportunity. She is not alone on the Left and among the Muslims who hang round with and exploit the Left in her bile for those who have the temerity to think in a way that ‘Queen Amani’ does consider to her tastes.
The Left did think that Hillary was a shoe-in, they seem to believe that everyone had been cowed but they were wrong. They’ve been mightily disabused of their assumptions and the evidence for that is currently sitting in the Oval Office in the White House.
