Report on the Bristol Demo by Gays against Shariah and Britons and Immigrants United Against Terror

The start of the Gays Against Shariah march in Bristol yesterday

A rain-swept Bristol was the site of the latest demonstration in favour of freedom and against the oppression of Islam, which was organised by Gays Against Shariah (GAS) and a new-ish group Britons and Immigrants United Against Terror (BIUAT). It was a small-ish demo, I would estimate it to be around 75 – 100 people but what it lacked in numbers it made up for in the quality and diversity of its attendees. It should be said at this point that the Patriot marchers easily outnumbered the small number of mad far-Leftists who turned out to counter-protest. The counter-protest basically consisted of the same small bunch of red flag wielding mental patients and a few superannuated SWP supporters popping up here and there, screaming abuse at the Patriot marchers. I must say Avon and Somerset Police did an excellent job in slapping down the Lefties. I was pleasantly surprised that the police dealt so effectively with the Left and, contrary to what has been alleged against other police forces who have policed other Patriot demonstrations in other parts of England, the police showed no sign of siding with the Left or deliberately provoking trouble.

We left the Temple Meads station muster point and marched mostly in dignified silence, pausing on occasion to laugh at the Left showing themselves up in front of the general public as the censorious wankers that they are. We and our police escort finally ended up at the Queens Square rally point, where there was a selection of excellent speeches from Anne Marie Waters, Paul Weston, Annie, Lucy Brown and a great many others. There are recorded live feed videos of the march available out there on the web, one place to start may be the British Federation of Truth’s upload, which can be found via the link below.

There was a sharp contrast between the Patriot marchers and the unsightly and remarkably ill-informed Leftists. One person, for whom it was their first Patriot / anti-Shariah march, remarked to me that the vast majority of those marching were well-informed about history, politics, culture, and theology and were ‘the normal people’ and that the other side, such as it was, were ill-informed.

It was good to be out highlighting the point that Shariah Law is incompatible with the human rights of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and others whose lifestyle, religion or mere existence is anathema to Islam. It was nice to meet up with those whom I have met before and others whom I was delighted to have the chance to meet at last, having only encountered them online up till then.

This was a march mostly made up of normal, educated, thoughtful people, the decent people who do not judge on skin colour or religion or which gender a person is attracted to, but instead judge individuals and ideologies on the content of their character. As well as the marchers being obviously more physically diverse than many of the counter-protesters, there was also as far as I could make out, a very wide diversity of opinions. In my view, free societies need to have diversity of opinion, in order for them to be healthy and open. There was a supreme irony in the Left screaming ‘racist’ or ‘fascist’ and doing everything in their power (which wasn’t a lot LOL) to stop what were basically decent, open-minded and also intelligent people from voicing their views.

I’d like to thank profusely Tommy English, Annie and the others who have organised this demonstration, it was well put together and it enthused the participants. I’d like also to thank the organisers and everyone who attended for welcoming my family and for being markedly so much better behaved than the Leftists were. This helps to show the public that we are not the ones who are ‘fascists’, even while various leftists and Islamic grievance mongers tried to paint us that way.
