Although I am very much the partisan when it comes to certain issues that doesn’t mean I cannot appreciate those who either don’t share my views or try to be reasonable in the way that they work. I am, as regular readers of this blog will know, solidly on the Centre-Right am avowedly anti the ideology of Islam, opposed strongly to political correctness, believe in freedom of speech and freedom for peaceful religions and consider myself both a British patriot and a supporter of Zionism. I make no secret of my views especially when it comes to matters pertaining to politics, religion and culture.
However, that does not stop me from admiring those who might have have different views to me when they put their views over in a reasonable way. I also admire those who appear to take care to be scrupulously fair in their output. One such person who is fair in how they treat their subjects is Mr Tim Pool who runs a You Tube channel called ‘Timcast’. Mr Pool’s channel has covered a lot of the public disorder that the political extremes in the USA have been involved in. He has interviewed figures of both the Left and the Right. He has also engaged in cultural commentary which is interesting and informative and thought provoking.
From what I’ve seen of Mr Pool’s work, he does try to be as fair as humanly possible with his reports and unlike some online commentators, does appear to seek out evidence from a variety of sources to back up what he says. According to Mr Pool’s Wiki bio he self educated himself from the age of about 14 and has become a trailblazer in the use of mobile tech to cover live some of the stories he covers. Mr Pool is a proper journalist who does the right thing and looks at both sides of an argument or a particular point of view and this care he takes is reflected in the style of Mr Pool’s output. He has achieved an incredible amount for such a young man. He was born in 1986 (I’ve got radios I use that are older than him LOL) and has created a body of work that is almost Reithian in its ability to educate, inform and entertain.
Mr Pool of course has some critics and I’ve seen some people accuse Mr Pool of fence sitting and being cautious in what he says. But, I don’t see his work in this way. What some people may see as over caution or of walking a middle path, I see as him having a necessary detachment from the story. Mr Pool comes over as reasonable and there’s a lot to be said in being reasonable.
You may already be aware of Mr Pool and his work, after all he does get about a bit, but if you are not then try and familarise yourself with his output. You may agree with it or you may not, but it is difficult to disagree that he does what he does very well.
