This blog has published a couple of stories in recent days about an Imam at a mosque in New Jersey who was sent for ‘rehabilitation‘ because he quoted some of the many Jew hating statements contained in Islamic scripture during a Friday sermon. I suspected that the ‘rehab’ was all a front, a load of bullshit and taqiyya, to divert attention away from Aymen Elkasaby the hate preacher in question.
Unsurprisingly but sadly I’ve been proven to be correct when I said the ‘rehab’ and all the meetings with ‘interfaith leaders’ was worthless. As it turns out this Imam is not being given any rehab for his Islamic hatefulness, he’s merely been shoved out of the public eye for a month in the hope that the fuss dies down.
According to a story on Breitbart USA, Elkasaby of the Islamic Centre of Jersey City is being given months leave of absence. The mosque has said that during this time he will be ‘retrained’ by meetings with other faith leaders but to me this statement looks and smells like bullshit. They will probably wave him in front of some left wing Jews or Christians and maybe a otherworldly Western Buddhist or two and then pronounce him ‘cured’ after the month is up.
They are not sacking this Imam nor even keeping this Jew hating savage out of the pulpit for a reasonable time such as a few months or so, he’s coming back in a month. Now what does that say about the sort of attitudes to members of other faiths that might be prevalent in this hitherto ‘moderate’ mosque? It shows that such ‘kill the Jews’ rhetoric and preaching is fully acceptable in this mosque and among its management and congregation. It also shows that what the mosque is really miffed about is being caught out.
This case should really be a wake up call for naïve non Muslims especially those involved in interfaith work. They should and need to realise that the smiling Imam sitting across the table from them speaking about how Islam is a religion of peace and that the radicals are only a small number, is probably lying to them. What this New Jersey Imam said was not ‘radical’ it is part of mainstream Islam. It’s not just radical or extreme Islam that calls for the murder of Jews, Christians and members of other faiths, it’s normative Islam that does that. When a Muslim sitting in front of an interfaith group that includes Islam’s traditional enemies such as Jews and Christians and the Muslim tells the group that Islam is not full of hate for them then the Muslim is 100% being dishonest. It’s time for the well meaning but often naïve denizens of the interfaith circuit to wake up and smell the hate filled Islamic coffee and to stop being exploited by those who speak words of peace but secretly and sometimes not so secretly pray or call for the deaths of those who have extended the hand of friendship towards them.
