The leader of Labour, Britain’s main opposition party in the House of Commons, Jeremy Corbyn has had a lifelong attraction to those who many of the rest of us would call terrorists. His attraction stems from Mr Corbyn’s socialism, a socialism that leads him to support often highly dubious ‘revolutionary’ movements. He has supported and met with members of Sinn Fein the political wing of the Irish Republican Army terror group whilst the IRA was involved in terror attacks both in Ulster and on the British mainland. He has appeared and given speeches at events celebrating the anniversary of the takeover of Iran by the religious thugs who still rule Iran and oppress its people. Jeremy Corbyn has been consistently opposed to the one true democracy in the Middle East, Israel, and under his rule the Labour Party has aligned itself with the enemies of Israel just as Mr Corbyn felt comfortable with being friends with enemies of Britain such as the IRA.
Since becoming leader, Jeremy Corbyn has set about morphing the party into a mirror image of himself. Under Jeremy Corbyn Labour has become a party more mired in political extremism than it ever was under former leaders such as Michael Foot, one of the leaders of the party during the wilderness years of the 1980’s. I look back to the days when Labour members backed vote losing policies such as unilateral nuclear disarmament or socialist economics with some degree of nostalgia. Such matters look a little trivial when compared to some recent information that is emerging about Labour and the Islamic terror group Hezbollah. It turns out that the growing calls for the Government to ban the political wing of Hezbollah from operating in Britain as it has done for Hezbollah’s military wing are going to be silenced by none other than the Labour Front Bench themselves.
In a stunning example of both naivety and a lack of awareness of what Hezbollah really is, the Labour Home Affairs team are trying to get Labour MP’s to vote against proscription on the grounds that banning Hezbollah in its entirety will damage attempts to help Hezbollah ‘down a democratic path’. I can’t help but wonder what sort of alternative universe Labour leaders live in, Hezbollah are unlikely to give up their Jew hatred, their hatred of Israel or the violent Islam that underpins their politics. I cannot see how giving these thugs a hand up by way of allowing their political wing to operate in the UK with impunity will change the core values of Hezbollah.
What is notable about this is that it is Joan Ryan the Labour MP for Enfield North who is calling for a tougher line to be taken on Hezbollah but it is the Labour party leadership which is pushing for this tougher line to be opposed. In effect the Labour Left has turned on Ms Ryan and are going to try to block her call for Hezbollah to be proscribed in its entirety.
Press reports certainly suggest that the Labour leadership under Corbyn and his allies are lining up to keep Hezbollah legal in Britain. Here’s part of a report from Breitbart on this story:
Labour MPs were instructed to block parliamentary efforts to ban Hezbollah entirely because party leaders want to “encourage” the group “down a democratic path”.
The advice was issued by Labour’s Shadow Home Affairs team ahead of a House of Commons debate on the issue, arranged by Labour MP Joan Ryan, with the motion asserting: “Hezbollah declares itself to be one organization without distinguishable political or military wings.”
This advice being dished out by a group of Labour shadow cabinet members that is led by Dianne Abbott the Shadow Home Secretary who is not just a person who has made left wing race-baiting a lifelong career, but who has also allegedly referred to the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist groups as ‘friends’. With the Labour Party now almost wholly controlled and guided by the likes Mr Corbyn and his supporters such as Dianne Abbott we should not be surprised to see that the party is being more open and vocal of their support to some of the worst regimes and terror groups on the planet. A party whose senior members consider Venezuela to be a country worth emulating and who are openly aligning themselves with the murderous Hezbollah group are a party that has become unfit for government.
When ordinary Britons next go to the polling station, whether that be for a local or a general election, they should consider carefully what Labour has become before they put their cross next to the Labour Party candidate’s name. They should consider whether a party that considers murderous Islamic jihad groups like Hezbollah would be willing to stand up for ordinary Britons, or whether if the party was faced with a choice between pandering to Islamic causes and throwing you and your family under the bus whether Labour would choose the latter. If Labour loves Hezbollah so much and it’s pretty obvious that they do, then it’s a pound to a penny that they will hate the likes of you and me with a passion that only the ideologue can understand and experience. Remember, a party that protects Hezbollah will almost certainly be less interested in protecting Britons and their families. Labour, a once great party that did great works, has become an instrument of those political and religious ideologies who cannot build, but can only destroy.
I can just see the press ads and billboards for the next election now: Featuring a man with a Hezbollah scarf covering all but his eyes, and holding an AK47, the text reads: “Join us on the road to democracy. The legal military wing urges you to vote Labour”
That may get them almost as many votes as reminding voters about the lunacies of Dianne Abbott.
