It’s time for a rare bit of celebration now. Planners from Herefordshire council have refused planning permission for a mosque to be built in Eign Street in Hereford. The mosque imposition plot was the third to be attempted by Muslim groups and the third to be refused by the council following valid objections regarding health and safety, traffic and disturbance. This particular application was put in by a particularly sneaky route. This time, rather than the Muslim group put their own names on the application, they appear to have worked through a non Muslim third party presumably to stop objectors realising at an early stage that this development would be a mosque. These non Muslim front men, who some may see as behaving like Quislings for Islam, bought the building and then submitted the application for a change of use. It was only when sharp witted locals started to study the plans that they realised that this was more than likely going to be a mosque.
According to a link sent to me by one of this blog’s contacts in the area, the local newspaper the Hereford Times, reported the refusal as follows:
COUNTY planners have rejected proposals to convert an office building in Hereford into a place of worship.
Applicant Matthew Lane from Weobley wanted to convert the three storey mid terrace building on Eign Street.
More than 30 residents objected to the proposals and Herefordshire Council planners have rejected the scheme.
John Bothamley, of Hereford Civic Society, said the plans were very poorly presented.
He said: “The scheme is submitted with scant regard to building regulations.
“There is no safe means of escape from the second floor bedsit.”
He referenced the ‘ablution areas’ and made the assumption that the building’s use is most likely to be for Muslim prayer, detailed in the application to be between the hours of 6am and 11pm.
Kalyani Menon, writing on behalf of the residents of Watkins Court, objected because of the extra traffic it would create.

Whilst I celebrate with the people of Hereford for having this big win against a mosque that nobody apart from the Muslims behind it want, people should not rest on their laurels. They will probably have another go at imposing a mosque so people should watch the planning applications and for any appeals against this refusal carefully. The use of non Muslim front men marks a departure from previous attempts and is information that should be shared with other groups elsewhere that are fighting mosque imposition plans. The use of non Muslim front men may be a tactic that is being used elsewhere so people don’t realise a development is going ot be a mosque until it is too late. Local people should also be aware that next time this groups may also try to rope in their friends on the naïve local interfaith groups and foolish pro-Islam local councillors, in order to back up their demand for a mosque in a city where such an entity is plainly not wanted by locals.

I don’t care how un pc this is but they should all go and settle in their own lands & rebuild their society like the men did in this country after 2 world wars. Its not about colour of skin it’s about a incompatible way of life to ours. Why is it we have had immigration into this country for decades without any trouble yet 1 group seem to be at the route of all the worlds troubles? I wish we all could live side by side in peace but just look at Europe it’s literal hell on earth.

Where is it hell on earth in Europe.. I have traveled to many European countries within the last few years and found them to be rather pleasant.
I suppose it helps if you are not a bigot. I was born and brought up around many races and I have found them to be just like any other people. Some are friendly and some are idiots. Just like the folk of Hereford it would seem.
FYI.. 2nd and 3rd and even 4th generation Muslims live in the UK. This is their land too.
The root of all the worlds troubles is not one race or religion, it is the hole in men’s hearts which causes them to hate other men and desire power and earthly wealth.. Perhaps you should take the time to read the Quran.. It may help to enlighten you.

Can you define what you mean by ‘Christian values’ and ‘Christian Society’?
Are you aware that ALL major religions have the same stories in them, which originate from Egypt, based on worship of the Sun and astrology?
Are you even vaguely aware of how similar the bible and quran are?
Have you actually investigated the immigration stats, and put them into context with births, deaths, the population as a whole?
Are you aware that we are heading to a bit of a population crisis where there will soon be more old than young? More pensioners, and not enough young to pay taxes and support them?
Why do we have a national shortage of GPs, NHS staff, and why are our young, skilled and motivated citizens jumping ship and leaving the country?

It’s a shame that those who have posted on this thread are narrow minded and ignorant. The application was refused because the location and building is unsuitable – not based on the fact that the intention was to provide a meeting room for a religion that many Herefordfordians are ignorant and scared off.
The comments being posted are bordering on racist and do show a lack of tolerance to others.
Before this gets too bad and readers having to report the issues to the plod I would hope the HT close the comments thread

Though it does sound like the plan was refused on valid grounds, I find it strangely comforting to know that this place is still mainly inhabited by narrow minded morons based on the comments above – it’s nice to know where the idiots are because it makes it easier to avoid them.
High town had loads of empty premises last time I was there – stick a mosque there – more centralised, parking available. I’m Catholic, I say welcome to my Muslim brothers and sisters – ignore the haters, they know not what they do, and just let me know if there is anything I can do to help? I will happily stand watch whilst you pray.
