Two festivals, two faiths, different outcomes.

Today is the second day of the Jewish festival of Shavout. It marks the belief among Jews that it was on this day that the Eternal One gave the Israelites laws to live by. Laws such as ‘Thou shalt not kill, or steal or covert thy neighbour’s wife’ and which are vital if people are to live together in peace and justice, as well as rules regarding moral and spiritual purity were also said to be given that day.

So how do I and other Jews celebrate this festival? We study Torah, we say prayers and we eat copious amounts of cheesecake and other dairy foods. You can find the reasons why we eat this feast of dairy fat via the Chabad website which is to me a ‘gold standard’ for information when it comes to Jewish observances.

While I and others are chowing down on cheesecake and being thankful for the concepts of law and justice handed down on Mount Sinai, what are members of other religions such as Islam doing for their celebration Ramadan? Well the are, as is so often the case, murdering people. So far this Ramadan there have been 73 deaths caused by those killing in the name of Islam. The number of people that Jews have killed over Shavout is as far as I can make out zero. Of course there might be a few people hospitalised because of overindulgence in cheesecake, but murdering people to mark a religious festival, no, that seems to be strictly an Islamic thing these days.

Last year’s Ramadan was complete carnage with over 1600 people murdered by Muslims in the name of Islam and of Allah. With 73 deaths so far and so short a way into Ramadan 2018, there is a strong possible that again we will see over a thousand people murdered for Islam by Muslims. This sort of body count is not the work of a respectable religion, this is the work of a death cult, a death cult called Islam.

  1. Ah, That explains why so many shops were shut in Golders Green yesterday. If I’d known what I know thanks to you, I’d have made a point of having cheesecake in Caffe Nero’s.
