The Ambush Predator blog has a brilliant comment about an Islamopanderer called Vicky Pickering who works in the town of Darwen in Lancashire. Ms Pickering works as a medical practise manager at the Hollins Grove Surgery, a medical centre that has recently taken on not just a new Muslim doctor but all the medic’s Islamic patients.
Following the appointment of the new doctor, Ms Pickering seems to have wasted little time before she decided to engage in a bit of public Islamopandering and virtue-signalling. Despite not being Muslim herself she has decided to fast for Ramadan as a form of ‘solidarity’ with her Muslim medic and his patients. I can’t help but ask her whether she is going to fast for Lent or for Yom Kippur as well or is it just Islam that Ms Pickering engages in cultural fellatio with? My guess is that she would not even dream of restricting herself during Lent nor go 25 hours without food or water on Yom Kippur, it’s only Islam that she wants to appease and pander to.
Vicky Pickering may think that she’s being culturally sensitive or maybe she’s trying to build bridges, but the reality is she is engaging in a form of cultural surrender. Ms Pickering may not be aware of how Ramadan fasting isn’t just a personal act in the Islamic world, but is something that is enforced by law, by social pressure and sometimes by violence. Vicky Pickering has ignored everything that is known about Ramadan, from the damage this style of fasting does to body and mind to the Islam-related and inspired violence that often peaks at Ramadan. Nothing is more important to her it seems than arse-licking the new Muslim doctor and his patients.
Vicky Pickering is a classic example of why there is a need for a clear out in Britain’s public sector of Islamopanderers such as her. Such Islamopanderers sometimes care little for the beliefs of others who may be non Muslim, help to legitimise Islamic attitudes and practises (including dangerous ones such as Ramadan fasting) in the general society. They also patronisingly treat Muslims as some sort of exotic ‘other’. She probably neither knows nor cares that there may be people in the new tranche of Muslim patients who may be being coerced with threats of violence to fast all that appears to matter to Ms Pickering is that she is seen by all and lauded by Muslims for acting like a total appeaser of Islam, a dhimmi.
Ms Pickering told the Lancashire Telegraph (‘comments closed’ on that article strangely) that she wanted to learn about Ramadan and decided to do some fasting to try to understand. My question is: Wouldn’t reading some books about the subject be more enlightening? If, for example, I wanted to understand the spirituality and reasons for something like Lent there is no way on earth that I could gain this understanding just by LARPing as a Christian and giving up chocolate for the Lent period. I would have to read widely on the subject in order to have a reasonable understanding of Lent. Somehow I don’t think that Ms Pickering may have undertaken such a necessary knowledge-gathering exercise before she embarked on her Ramadan virtue-signalling.
Personally I would be pretty offended if some public sector wallah at my local doctors surgery decided to fast in solidarity with me on Yom Kippur. ‘You do not have to do this’, I would tell her ‘it’s not your path’. I would add that by fasting and not being aware of the underlying reasons for the fast and the history and literature that comes from it or is inspired by it, she would be taking a ‘spiritual supermarket’ view of Judaism, rather than having any deep and meaningful understanding of it.
It is both a shallow and a dangerous act that Ms Pickering has engaged in. It’s shallow because it is just public virtue signalling and this fast is being done for dubious reasons. It is dangerous because not only does it legitimise unwelcome Islamic practises such as the brain-clouding fasting methods, but also normalises the idea that we non Muslims should submit to Islamic mores.
Unfortunately, Ms Pickering isn’t alone in the public sector when it comes to the issue of Islamopandering. Up and down the country there are public servants who are tiptoeing round Islam and Islamic cultural norms, pandering to Muslims and sometimes treating the rest of us like we are the second class citizens which Islam classifies us as. What Ms Pickering has engaged in is not and does not come over as an act of empathy, but instead an act that contains elements of both cultural surrender and pandering to Islam. Finally, I don’t think that Ms Pickering should be directly hassled over her abject Islamopandering, disgraceful as it is, by members of the public, but she should serve as a reminder to us all that we need to elect politicians who will make her and her pandering to Islam a thing of the past in Britain’s public services. Voting for the Labour or Conservative parties has given us public sector culture where workers take every opportunity they can to appease, promote or surrender to Islam and this destructive policy can only reversed by voting in people who will look after all of us, no matter who we are, for a change.
