For the latest instalment of this ‘Pakistan shithole’ feature we travel to Bahawalpur in Pakistani controlled Punjab where there has been another horrific ‘honour’ attack by a man presumably Muslim based on the demographics of Pakistan, on his wife and the man the husband suspected was his wife’s lover. According to a report on the website of the Pakistan Today news outlet (h/t ROP), the Muslim man attacked his wife and her supposed lover with an axe, amputating the hands and feet of the pair.
Pakistan Today said:
A man amputated his wife, her alleged lover’s hands and feet, in the name of honour on Sunday in Kot Dadu Ghalu area of Bahawalpur.
According to the police officials, the husband attacked the wife and her alleged paramour with an axe and fled the scene, leaving the victims’ seriously injured.
The injured were taken to the hospital where they are said to be in critical condition.
A case has been registered against the accused man and police have started raids for his arrest.
It appears that the alleged assailant is still on the run and has not yet been captured by police. Although I concede that adultery and cheating within relationships is reprehensible, the reaction to this alleged adultery is completely and utterly over the top. However this sort of violence is normal for Islam and normal for Islamic shithole nations like Pakistan.
In Islamic nations like Pakistan, it is women who bear the brunt of the violence that comprises a large part of these ‘honour’ crimes and those nations such as the United Kingdom that have allowed members of the Pakistani diaspora to settle there are also seeing a rise in similar types of horrific offences. Islam’s treatment of women as second or even third class citizens encourages this sort of crime. Although ‘honour’ violence is not confined to Muslims alone, it is Muslims who seem to make up the majority of those who commit such offences. This case shows that there is no real honour in Pakistan and no real honour in Islam itself. Pakistan is a misogynistic, violent hell hole of monstrous proportions and this is just one case that illustrates just how badly Islam has warped Pakistan since its independence from Britain in the mid 20th century.
