Within the last hour news is emerging from London of a vehicle incident in the Westminster area. According to various press reports on what is obviously a developing story, a vehicle was alleged to have hit several pedestrians and cyclists before hitting one of the infamous ‘Diversity Barriers’ set up to protect the Palace of Westminster from Islamic terrorist attack.
This could, of course, all be the result of some sort of tragic accident of the type that sent a car into a pharmacy window in Golders Green in London earlier this year. But on the other hand it may not. The press reports are stating that the driver has been arrested and that counter terror police have become involved. Arrest and counter terror involvement is probably quite usual for an incident near the Palace of Westminster but this matter has not been handed over to the traffic cops and the police later confirmed that they are looking at a terror angle.
Some of the witness accounts do indeed give the impression that this was a deliberate attack in particular this person who gave their account to the Press Association and which was featured on Sky News.
Ewalina Ochab told the Press Association: “I think it looked intentional – the car drove at speed and towards the barriers.”
She said: “I was walking on the other side [of the road]. I heard some noise and someone screamed. I turned around and I saw a silver car driving very fast close to the railings, maybe even on the pavement.”
“The person driving did not go out” of the car she added.
This is not the only person whom the press are quoting who has given an account that suggests that the vehicle was deliberately driven at the pedestrians and cyclists, both Sky and the BBC are also stating that there appears be witnesses who are testifying that they observed what they took to be deliberation on the part of the driver. The comment by Ewalina Ochab where she said that the vehicle was seemingly being driven at inappropriate speed does suggest recklessness at best and deliberate intent at worst· I would not read that much into the guy not getting out of the car, lots of people are in shock after accidents and don’t move for a while, but the comment about the speed of the vehicle is pertinent.
Sky gave a description of the man who had been driving and who had been arrested by police. Sky News said:
“A number of pedestrians” have been injured after a car crashed into security barriers outside Parliament.
A man has been arrested after the vehicle drove into security barriers, the Metropolitan Police confirmed.
The driver was detained at the scene by armed police, wearing a white shirt and a black hooded jacket.
The black man was led backwards away from the car after police held him at the scene for a few moments.
Unless this can be shown to be a tragic accident or an incident of road rage, it is probably wise to consider whether this is yet another attack on Britain by the followers of the woefuly misnamed ‘religion of peace’. Although this is a developing story, there is a strong possibility bearing in mind the police response and the eyewitness statements, that Britain has attacked again by those inspired by the savage ideology of Islam.

Hmm – not a Toyota Prius again, was it ?

No it’s a Ford Fiesta this time. I ran the registration number of the vehicle through one of these ‘car details’ sites, in this case Regit and found that the vehicle had had a fair number of faults that caused it to fail its MOT this year. Some of the faults are minor such as lights but others are more serious such as play in the steering column and the car previously (2015 ) failed MOT on braking, tyre and wiper issues. What struck me as interesting was that whoever (and it may not be the current driver or keeper of the car) was so anxious to keep this car on the road that earlier this year the vehicle failed its MOT, was repaired (presumably at the same garage) and then retested the same daywhen it passed. I know this sort of repair route is more expensive than taking the vehicle away and either doing the job oneself or getting an independent to do it so whoever authorised this same day repair has enough resources to do so. https://www.regit.cars/car/fl10cwz/interested#history
