Islam is different from other belief system. We can see that when we study Islamic theology, culture and history that there are massive differences between the morality of Islam when compared to other monotheistic faiths such as Judaism and Christianity. Another way to see that Islam is different from these other faiths is by the behaviour of those who convert to Islam.
In my experience, those who convert to Christianity or Judaism do not suddenly want to out and kill people in the name of Jesus or Hashem. New Muslims on the other hand do seem quite often to want to go out and kill for Allah or give support to those who do want to kill for the Islamic deity.
There has, over the last decade or so, been a constant stream of individuals who convert to Islam who gravitate towards violence, hatred and intolerance towards non-Muslims. You don’t see this phenomenon of choosing violence as an option with new Christians or with new Jews, it’s nearly always new Muslims who do this.
The latest accusation of a new Muslim going ‘full Islam’ comes from PJ Media the United States and (h/t ROP) where a woman who converted to Islam is alleged to have been providing materiel support for ISIS.
PJ Media said:
An Indiana woman who traveled with her husband to live in the Islamic State capital of Raqqa, Syria was charged last week by the Justice Department for material support for terrorism.
The indictment claims Samantha Elhassani acquired tactical gear for known ISIS terrorists and provided other related support for the terror groups.
As I reported here at PJ Media, her 10-year-old son was featured in an ISIS propaganda video that threatened President Donald Trump and warned of domestic terror attacks. The video also showed a young Yazidi boy from Iraq who was held hostage by her family.
Elhassani’s attorney claims she was tricked by her husband to moving to Raqqa in 2014. Her husband, Moussa Elhassani, was reportedly killed in a drone strike last year.
Last Thursday, the Justice Department announced the material terror support charges against Elhassani
Reading more deeply into the PJ Media article we can see that it is being claimed by Elhassani’s lawyer that Elhassani was ‘tricked’ into going to Syria. Im afraid that I’m not sure that I buy this explanation. It is possible of course that she was tricked into being taken to Turkey or somewhere relatively reasonable and then moved over the Syrian border, but I’m sure whether such an explanation or the claim of being ‘tricked’ into going to Syria would stand up in court. Elhassani is accused of other offences, such as lying to the FBI, which seem to show that she may have been a committed jihadist for some or all of the time she was in Syria or with her late husband.
I think that what we have here is an example of a phenomenon that we have seen many times before and that is when a former non-Muslim converts to Islam and then immediately becomes enamoured with Islam’s violent side. There are so many of these cases where new Muslims hit the big red Jihad button very quickly that we should be worried about converts to Islam. Maybe it is time for the rest of us to start to see those who choose to convert to Islam, not merely as individuals who are exercising their right to choose their own spiritual path, but as a potential threat to life and limb, who need to be monitored by the security services?
