We now know that eleven people have been killed by a deranged murderer who entered the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh in the US state of Pennsylvania and began shooting during a morning service that included a baby blessing for the child of one of the congregants of the synagogue. This is a truly horrific attack carried out by a low life Jew hating fraggle, apparently he was one of those who believed all manner of ‘Zionist plot’ nonsense. According to one report I saw on CNN which was basing their story on the killer’s social media profiles, including his posts that he made under the name of Robert Bowers, on Gab, a site where I also post as @Fahrenheit211, the murderer was an avowed anti-Semite. CNN has claimed that in various social media posts Bowers made increasingly angry and demented statements, for example that President Trump was ‘controlled by the Jews’, Holocaust imagery and also accused Jewish groups of assisting the large group of South American migrants that are making their way to and threatening the Southern US border.
It’s difficult to imagine the horror that those attending one of three services that were going on at the Pittsburgh shul must have felt, when this savage killer burst into the building. A day that should have been for the congregants a day of peace and joy, encompassing as it did at the Squirrel’s Hill synagogue both the Sabbath and a baby blessing, was swiftly turned in to the most awful carnage by this deranged man. Both congregants and police officers have been killed or severely injured in this attack. We should all, no matter what our belief system, pray for the souls of the dead and the families of those so brutally murdered and for the recovery of those who were injured.
Apparently, according to the Liberalist commentator Sargon of Akkad who produced a short video on this incident, the murderer Bowers put out a post on Gab shortly before the killing. Sargon’s video quoted Bowers as saying that a Jewish relief agency was assisting the migrant invasion from the South, that Bowers would not stand by and see his own people killed and chillingly ‘screw the optics, I’m going in’. What came out in the Sargon video is that Bowers is completely deranged and hated Trump and called him a ‘globalist’ and ‘controlled by Jews’. Both statements are ones that are completely devoid of factual basis. Sargon also made the very cogent point that the number of these headcase murderous neo-Nazis are very small indeed and Bowers’ crime has even been disavowed by the ‘out there’ fraggles of The Daily Stormer. It shows how far Bowers has gone, that genuine white supremacists and neo-Nazis such as the Daily Stormer want nothing to do with him and want desperately not to be associated with him.
What we know of the killer is pointing to him being a genuine ‘lone wolf’ killer, who has radicalised himself. Unlike the majority of murderers of Jews in Europe for example, who too often follow the ideology of Islam, there is no evidence that the Pittsburgh murderer is a follower of an organised group or any particular identifiable ideology. He’s just a deranged Jew hating nutcase who probably gravitated towards an echo chamber made up of a small number of like minded individuals, both on mainstream and alternative social media such as Facebook and Gab. This echo chamber, very small as it is in reality, fed and reinforced his ‘kill the Jews’ knobwittery. This is a similar modus operandi as we see with some other extremists, political and religious, along with criminals such as those who have an unhealthy interest in children.
Robert Bowers deserves to get what I hope is coming to him for turning a day of peace and rest and celebration into a day of horror. Although Pennsylvania is a state where there is a moratorium on the death penalty, if this is considered as a Federal crime, which is likely, then he will face the death penalty under Federal jurisdiction. For the taking of so many lives, whether they be Jewish lives or police officers or anyone else, this bastard deserves to forfeit his life, just as the perpetrators of the Fort Hood and Charleston church shootings have been sentenced to forfeit theirs.
If there is a lesson that we can all learn from this horrific and tragic incident, it is that violent and murderous Jew hatred does not always spring from those who follow an organised ideology or group such as Islam or one of the various neo-Nazi groupuscules Such violence can come from any of the deranged individuals out there, not just online but anywhere, who have found it easier to blame ‘The Jews’ for their own life failures or for the perceived or actual failures of politicians, than act in a responsible manner to put their personal and national problems to rights. Those who hold such views as ‘The Jews are to blame for Communism/Bank failures/multiculturalism/the sinking of the Titanic (yes, I’ve seen the ‘Zionist iceberg’ wankers they do exist)/ insert knobwittering belief here, are quite rightly mocked, not just in real life but also on places like Gab, where shaming and mocking the various flavour of National Socialist has become a useful pastime for Gabbers of the Left, Centre and Right. This murderer of the innocents, this moral descendant of Amalek, built himself a world in his head in which ‘the Jews’ were responsible for all his and his nation’s ills. This internal monologue set this individual off on the path of evil, the path of Yetzer haRa, the inclination which all humans are in danger of following, and indeed he did a great evil.
There will, of course, in the coming days be much debate about this attack. I reckon some of this debate will concentrate on any possible security or intelligence failures that may be uncovered in this period. However, I don’t feel that this piece is the place or that this is the time to have that debate. Therefore I close this piece by praying again for the souls of those who were lost in this attack and those who were injured. I praise the bravery of the law enforcement officers who tried with great courage to stop this murderer before he could kill more than he managed to kill.
