There is a bizarre story that has come out of the United States of America concerning a member of the US Military, Ikaika Erik Kang, who has been gaoled for an extensive time, 25 years, for providing materiel support for the Islamic terror group ISIS. It’s bizarre because here we have a decorated member of the US armed forces becoming enamoured of the ISIS terrorists and who admired them. This is a person who should have been stable enough to stay sane enough to keep away from such groups and such an ideology. After all you do not get to become an air traffic controller, especially a military one, which this man was, if you are in any way unstable or liable to crack under pressure. If anyone should have been immune to the blandishments of ISIS then surely it should have been Kang? The initial UPI report on the sentencing (h/t ROP) just gives us the impression that here we have an armed forces member who has gone mad but doesn’t tell us why Kang went down the path he did.
The question as to how Kang could have become so much of a traitor to his country becomes more easy to answer, when one examines a statement made by his father when Kang junior was arrested in 2017. It appears from this report in a Hawaiian news site Hawaiian News Now that Kang converted to Islam at some point. Kang’s father didn’t think that this was really much of an issue and Mr Kang senior, a Roman Catholic, accepted his son’s choice of faith. Mr Kang senior said that he did not believe that his son was an extremist and was reported by Hawaiian News Now to have said:
“He told me he’s with the Muslim faith now. I’m a Catholic so I figured well, that’s alright,” Kang said.
“There’s good teachings of the Muslim faith and the bad. And from time to time when he did live here, he would teach me the Koran. So I listened to him but other than teaching or learning that belief, there was no mention of him going astray.”
It was a bad mistake by Mr Kang senior to not see this conversion as a problem. It is a mistake that I’ve seen the families of other converts to Islam also make. The families, desperate that their children find a path in life that makes the child happy, go along with and buy into the lies told by their newly converted offspring. that Islam really is a religion of peace and is unfairly maligned by non Muslims. Like the families with Islamic converts within them that I have encountered in the United Kingdom, families in the US, such as Kang’s family, tend to believe the bullshit that their children feed them about Islam. This BS is reinforced by messages put out by the mainstream media and the Left that Islam is a religion of peace. They want to believe that their kids are not mentalist extremist Muslim nutters as nobody who truly loved their children would want that for them. They want to believe this so much that they refuse to countenance the idea that their children have chosen to join a sick death cult.
Kang Junior first appears to have come under suspicion of having Islamic terrorist sympathies after he had made pro-ISIS and pro-jihad comments at work. He was made the subject of an investigation by US Federal agents working undercover. Kang had a number of meetings with undercover officers posing as an ‘ISIS sheikh’ and an ‘ISIS fighter’ and during these meetings handed over to the undercover officers sensitive classified US government documents along with commercially purchased items such as a drone and military style clothing and equipment. Kang event went so far as to go through a fake ceremony of swearing allegiance to ISIS. After Kang did this, and expressed a desire to get a firearm and kill civilians and military personnel in Hawaii, he was arrested by the US authorities. According to a news source from Alabama USA, Alabama Media Group, when earlier Kang’s living quarters was searched Federal officers also found a number of documents marked ‘SECRET’ held on one of Kang’s personal computers.
It appears that it is only by chance and Kang’s stupidity that Kang’s treasonous and murderous Islamic desires were uncovered. If Kang had kept quiet at work about his Islamic conversion and his views on ISIS, then he might have lain undisturbed for years, only to be revealed after he went ‘full Islam’ and committed an atrocity. If a work colleague had not had the presence of mind to think that Kang was dodgy, or if the colleague had been doped by political correctness enough to say nothing for fear of causing offence, then Kang would also have been free to plot and possibly kill. A lot of people around Kang seem to have bought into the bullshit that Islam is a religion of peace and accepted Kang’s conversion to the cult without much in the way of critical questioning of him about it. This I believe was a massive mistake by Mr Kang senior, the rest of Kang’s family and the US military.
Conversion to Islam should have been seen by all of these groups and individuals as a problem. This is because so many converts to Islam have become problems, serious violent and murderous ones. Conversion to Islam by an individual needs to be seen as a security issue as so many of these Islamic converts often go violently Islamic quite quickly. Those who actively choose Islam need to be treated as the potential threats that they very often are. This is because the path from choosing Islam and uttering the Shahada and carrying out an awful Islam inspired terror attack is a very well worn one.
We should be much more actively suspicious of those who choose Islam, much more so than those who choose to convert to Christianity, Judaism or any other mostly peaceful faith. Islam is different. Islam and a significant minority of its followers are now openly at war with the rest of us and those who actively choose Islam are choosing a side that increasingly shows enmity to anyone and anything that could be called ‘un-Islamic’.
We as societies that are beset by a vast array of social problems that have their roots in Islam such as terrorism, coercive violence and anti-social behaviour and the issue of Islamic Rape Gangs should not longer passively tolerate those who knowingly choose the Islamic path. The families who just say ‘that’s nice dear’ when their child announces that they are following the blood-soaked path of Allah and who are not rightly concerned about what is going on in their child’s head, are part of the problem. They let their offspring down and endanger the rest of us by treating Islam as ‘just another religion’.
Conversion to Islam is akin to announcing that you have joined up with an enemy that wants the rest of us either dead or enslaved and because of that we should denounce these conversions and despise those who convert. Whilst I support the right of everyone to have freedom of religion, it needs to be remembered that not all religions are equal, some religions are much more of a threat to our way of life than others are. We do not fear violence from Methodists or Orthodox Jews or Buddhists or Jains, but we do fear violence from the followers of Islam.
Those who choose to align themselves with a death cult founded by an illiterate seventh century warlord and nonce are announcing to the world that there is something wrong with them and that they are a potential threat to the rest of us. We should treat those who convert to Islam with the same level of derision, disgust and distrust as Britons would have once treated a man who during World War II, stood up in a crowded pub and shouted ‘I love Adolf’. Islam has declared war on the West and those who actively choose Islam should be treated with much more suspicion than they have been treated in the past, This is because converts to Islam have actively chosen their side, and it is not ours, it’s the side that wants our destruction.
