There has been a massive and justifiable expression of anger both from social media and via mainstream media polls about the prospect of the ISIS bride Shamima Begum returning to the United Kingdom. I haven’t seen anything positive, outside of the middle class Left Guardianista class to suggest that there is any real appetite for allowing Shamima Begum and her baby into the UK. Even on usually Lefty online enclaves, such as Urban75, there has been at least from what I have seen, a significant level of support for keeping Begum out of Britain. The mainstream Sky News is also reporting that a poll of a sample of their customers showed that 76% wanted Begum kept out against 16% who wanted her brought back.
Now the Home Secretary Sajid Javid has, maybe because he’s spotted a way to promote himself and his department, popped his head over the parapet and has said in a press interview that Begum ‘could’ be prevented from re-entering the UK. I’m afraid that ‘could’ is really not good enough, what Mr Javid should have said is that she ‘will’ be prevented from entering the UK.
Begum’s backstory, which includes a father allegedly spotted taking part in a demo with Islamic extremists, is so worrying that Mr Javid should be actively preventing her from entering Britain. He should do this on the grounds that she will not be conducive to the public good if that is at all possible or even allowing her prosecution by those who have captured her. What should not happen is Begum comes to Britain. I see no good of letting her back in and it sets an appalling precedent that will be exploited by other potential ISIS returnees. We really do not need someone who has chosen to give support and assistance to one of the most bestial Islamic groups on the planet. There are suspicions being shared out there that this woman may have been involved in much more with regards to human rights abuses than she is letting on? This view is given some credence by her unrepentant attitude to ISIS and her nonchalant attitude to the aftermath of atrocities such as the sight of severed heads. It would not surprise me if there is more about Begum’s time with ISIS which she is choosing not to speak about.
There is, as the Leftist commentator Shiraz Mather says a moral issue, when it comes to minors who were taken by their parents at a young age from the UK to Syria. I think that most people are sensible enough to know the difference between child that has been abused by their parents by having them cart the children off to ISIS land. But, in my view this moral issue does not apply in the case of Shamima Begum. She actively chose to go to Syria and to ISIS, there is no question of unwillingness or regret for her decision.
Some of course will whine that ‘she was just a child when she went’, to them I answer thus: She was 15, just a few months from partial legal majority when she could generally considered to be mature enough to ride a moped, have sex with either men or women and buy a lottery ticket along with getting married or joining the British Army with parental consent. She was old enough and considered mature enough to do all of these things, except thankfully, voting, therefore she should be considered mature enough to pay the penalty for her monstrous and appalling decision to join ISIS. I’ve thought about this particular case deeply and I see no moral imperative for allowing Begum and her child into the UK. We are not dealing with an abused child who has been whipped off to Syria, but instead a near adult who has made a bad decision and appears to have made that decision with a significant amount of forethought and planning.
Mr Javid needs to realise that showing mercy to Begum and bringing her back to Britain and potentially causing a security threat is not going to be seen by ex ISIS types as an act of charity from a position of strength, but as a political weakness to be exploited by the West’s enemies. If we bring Begum back to Britain then she is going to have to be kept under extensive police and security service watch which will be expensive and divert attention away from other Islamic terror threats. We also as taxpayers a lifetime of welfare payments for Begum because after all who is going to employ an ex ISIS bride in a legitimate job? No it is better to not let Begum come here again and Mr Javid must employ every legal angle in order to keep her out.
She isn’t remotely British – she has a deep hatred of Britain and the West in general – and her passport should be burnt in front of her.
She is a violent unpleasant person who is already “back home” right where she is.
The only way our craven muslim fellating scum of a government will keep this ragheaded filth out is by bunging the Syrians a few quid to bump her off and bury her in the desert (I’ll contribute). There will be whines of “not allowed to make her stateless” from the usual suspects and the monkeys in Westminister will fold. Either see to her over there, or expect musder and mayhem from the bitch over here
