Local non-Muslims in the South Woodford area of the London Borough of Redbridge have fought very hard to stop a massive, unwanted and inappropriate mosque being dumped on their area. A few years ago it looked as if this mosque-strocity had been permanently stopped and the people of South Woodford had been spared this mosque imposition.

Unfortunately, the members of the woefully misnamed ‘religion of peace’ are having another attempt to impose this unwanted mosque on South Woodford. An Islamic ‘community group’ want to build a massive three storey, four if you include the basement, mosque with flats to accommodate the Imam, despite having this application refused before.

This particular attempt is accompanied by some pretty shady behaviour by the mosque promoters along with allegations, unfounded at present, of local council misbehaviour regarding the mosque’s lease of a car park. The way that the council have managed this reapplication for planning permission for a mosque has also raised some suspicions that the council are favouring this application by frustrating objections to it.

The fight against this mosque has been long, hard and expensive for local people who do not want this mosque imposed on them. They are right to do so. If I was them I would also want to keep the nice character of their area and do not want to see it go the same dismal Islamified way as other parts of Redbridge have gone. If I was a Redbridge resident, I would also be looking at Redbridge’s neighbouring borough, Newham, to see what happens when mosques are not resisted. Newham, has suffered Islamification to such an extent that a once poor but thriving borough of people who were black, white, Christian, Jewish, Hindu and Sikh, but who tried to live in harmony, is now almost completely controlled by Islamic interests. Islam has turned Newham into an area where what Muslims want, Muslims get and only lip service is paid to the needs of members of other non Muslim groups. If I was a Redbridge resident I would look at Newham and parts of Redbridge and be scared that this is what is going to happen to South Woodford if this mosque is imposed.

Those who are trying to dump this unwanted mosque on South Woodford are tying some particularly underhand tricks in order to get planning permission. The mosque promoters have commissioned a report into parking conditions in the area surrounding the site of the proposed mosque,which is currently home to a single storey Islamic community centre. This report is stating that parking issues, one of the things that sunk the original mosque application, are not an issue as there is plenty of on street parking available. However this area is a controlled parking area with parking only for residents, There is not masses of available car parking which the mosque’s tame parking consultants are claiming, as much of the parking is not available for casual visitors.

There has been allegations, made on the Twitter account of the South Woodford Society, that not enough time was allowed for residents of South Woodford to object to this mosque application. The more conspiratorial minded among this blog’s readers may wonder whether this has been a deliberate ploy, by Redbridge’s Labour council, to damage or hamper any potential campaign against this mosque imposition. Since Labour got into power in Redbridge following a long period of Tory rule, Islamopandering has become much more common and the council has been less willing to stand up to Islamic interests than they should be. For example the council was less than forthcoming with help and assistance when a Pakistani Christian group complained that their Nativity scene had been vandalised and the baby Jesus figure beheaded.

South Woodford Society also alleges, although this allegation is unproven at present, that the council quietly leased land adjacent to the proposed mosque for 20 years without any public consultation or open public process. This is in spite of this land being earmarked for other community uses.

Sources in the local area tell me that the objectors to this mosque imposition have engaged high profile legal advice and are campaigning hard against the imposition of a mosque that has already been twice refused planning permission. Objectors have also asked certain councillors to look into the allegedly shady lease of car park land to the mosque promoters and also into the validity and accuracy of the parking consultant’s report which is apparently counting unavailable parking spaces as being available to potential mosque users.

This is a monstrous mosque that is attempted to be imposed on an area that doesn’t want it and is a development that is not in keeping with either the architectural styles of surrounding buildings, is overly large and imposing and will bring zero benefit to local people or to local businesses. I do hope that the objectors can win this case but the mosque-e-teers are trying every slimy trick in the book to get their mosque dumped where it is neither wanted nor needed. Unfortunately as well as fighting the mosque promoters the objectors are also having to fight a Labour party that has come to rely on Islamic bloc votes and can therefore not be relied upon to support local residents against Islamic interests.
