Recently we’ve seen the unedifying spectacle of a UK Police Force go into full ‘Islamopandering’ mode. The senior officers of West Midlands Police gave the distinct impression that they had lost their collective minds over some mosque window breakages. Whilst breaking others windows is wrong, whether it be a window in a neighbours greenhouse or a mosque, in truth these attacks were little more than the sort of minor criminal damage that, had it not been for an Islamic angle, many police would have just recorded but not bothered to investigate. It most certainly did not require the deployment of the Counter Terror Unit of West Midlands Police.

You may also recall that the Chief Constable of WMP, Dave Thompson, publicly wrung his hands over these widow breaking incidents and wittered on about diversity and togetherness in his statement on the incident. We also had the taxpayer funded (£1.9M) mendacious grievance mongering taqiyya artists of Tell Mama go into full hyperbole mode and claim that the Muslims of Birmingham are worried that a Christchurch style shooter would attack them.

Well now the truth about these incidents are starting to come out. They are not the result of some massive rise in violent anti-Muslim hate, as groups like Tell Mama have claimed, but the work of a lone nutter. Yes, one disturbed individual, who is now being held under the Mental Health Act, appears to be the alleged perpetrator of the vast majority of the six mosque window breaking incidents that have occurred in Birmingham. The man, according to press reports, is a 34 year old from Perry Barr who handed himself in to police and he is being held for five of the six window breaking incidents.

Yes, you’ve heard it right there. West Midlands Police deployed their Counter Terror Unit, turned the handwringing control up to 11, and probably took who knows how many officers off of normal duties to ‘reassure’ Birmingham’s Muslims. They did all this for what has turned out to be little more than one lone nutcase with a sledgehammer. What a bloody waste of resources. I wonder how many other offences did not get investigated properly or in a timely manner because CC Thompson decided to play Lady Bountiful with police resources in this way? I wonder how many fights were not stopped, stabbings not prevented, burglaries not investigated and thieves not apprehended, because of the desire of West Midlands Police to pander to and ‘reassure’ Muslims? We will of course have to wait for that area’s crime figures to truly know, but if I was a burglar, I’d be delighted if I knew that the police who could have stopped my burgling, were babysitting one particular sector of the community. What should really worry us is the possibility that whilst WMP’s Counter Terror Unit were running round like blue arsed flies over these criminal damage incidents, real terrorists, of the Allah hu Akbar shouting sort, might have been able to slip through the policing net.

What is laughable about this case is that despite West Midlands Police throwing everything including the kitchen sink at these acts of vandalism, the police didn’t even have to go and look for the suspect, he handed himself in to a police station. Truly only a real nutcase, not a member of any credibly dangerous anti Muslim gang does that? Nobody in their right minds these days would give themselves up to the police for something like this. They would know, through ample court precedent, that the state doesn’t exactly like those who go after Islam whether that be through the sort of violent means that I cannot condone or approve of, or the more peaceful activism that I do approve of. Anyone with any sense would know that, in this day and age, if they were suspected of some iffy ‘hate crime’ or ‘hate speech’ offence, the very last thing to do is go anywhere near the police. The police not going to be interested in your side of the story or what you believe to be a mitigating factor, they are only concerned with the personal and subjective perceptions of the alleged ‘victim’. The ‘victim’ may be talking complete bollocks but the police will take their word over yours and the courts will do the same. I think that this lone nutter is probably on his way to some serious gaol time, if as could be possible, he doesn’t get some sort of hospital order.

There are I’ve noticed some similarities between the cases of vandalism in Birmingham and the infamous ‘Punish a Muslim Day’ letters that went out early last year. In that case the police and the Islamic grievance mongers again lost their collective minds and counter terror officers were deployed. In that case, as in the Birmingham vandalism case, the perpetrator was, as many expected, just one lone fraggle. There was nothing more than that. There was no organised anti Muslim group behind it, there were, apart from the white powder that was sent in one of the letters, apparently no credible threat to Muslims. I very much doubt that the calls for murder that were in these letters would have been taken seriously by anyone. Both the style of the communications themselves and their content would not have inspired confidence in anyone that there was a serious group behind this. Despite that being the case during the life of this incident, various Islamic grievance mongers talked up this possibility of an organised threat yet played down the idea that it could be the work of one lone nutter. An organised group, as I believe I pointed out on social media etc at the time, would have done a more professional job than that done by this lone man.

Because of five broken windows incidents, West Midlands Police Chief Constable Thompson decided that the best course of action he could take was to divert resources from maybe other more necessary fields, to ‘reassuring’ Muslims. CC Thompson may have,in policing terms, short changed a whole lot of other Birmingham residents who are not Muslim by doing this. The Chief Constable may not have intended the response to these acts of vandalism to look like pandering to one community, but I’m afraid that is the impression that they give. This is especially the case as Muslims demanded, and apparently got, a ‘summit’ with police officers where presumably the ‘Muslim community’ can berate the police for not doing enough for them. The question I would like to ask CC Thompson is this: If Muslims can get a summit because they feel unsafe, why cannot others in your police area, people not blessed with the ‘protected characteristics’ that officers need to pander to, get the same?

The way that CC Thompson has poltroon-like slithered around the Islamic community uttering calm words and calling for peace, reminds me of an ancient Briton paying Danegeld in order to stop the Danes raiding and fighting. Is CC Thompson paying some sort of ‘Islamic Danegeld’ by pumping so many resources into what is merely the sort of criminal damage that would otherwise be a less than high priority? Is he trying to ‘buy off’ with police resources a Muslim community, about which CC Thompson may have intelligence on to suggest, may possibly kick off violently if not placated? If that is the case then CC Thompson should take heed of the old Rudyard Kipling poem about the fate of the nation that pays Danegeld. Kipling said: ‘That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld, You never get rid of the Dane.’ I suspect that what will ultimately be the result of these window breaking incidents is that the West Midlands Police will rush to appease Birmingham’s Islamic community by allocating more police resources to protect them, leaving everyone else of course, at much more danger from crime. The combination of one lone nutter, an appeasing police force and a very demanding Islamic community is not a good one for the health of any police area.
