If there is two things that can be almost guaranteed in this world is firstly that there will be Muslims who will refuse point blank to acknowledge the part played by Islamic theology in the phenomenon of Islamic terror. The second thing is that those Muslims who say ‘not us guv’nor’ when it comes to Islamic violence, will become incredibly voluble when it comes to the things that ‘offend’ them.
A good example of the breed of attention seeking Islamic ‘offendotron’ comes from a Derbyshire news source and concerns a convert to Islam who has been whining louder than a World War II air raid siren over a food item. Note well that she’s not chosen to run to the press over some of the more dodgy aspects of Islam, such as the treatment of women or the rampant hatred that Islam promotes towards members of other faiths, but instead has gone public over a pasta sauce.
Derbyshire Live has said that Rianne Ward, who converted to Islam seven years ago (Ed: Why I ask? A woman converting to Islam is as silly as a Black person deciding to convert to slavery), bought a jar of vegetarian carbonara pasta sauce from a branch of Aldi but complained that she felt ‘angry and distraught’ because the smoky salt flavouring had the odour of bacon. Ms Ward kicked off big time over the smell of bacon and whined loudly that she felt that she had ‘betrayed’ her religion by serving up pork to her family. But both the shop where she bought the product and the producer of the sauce insist that it is fully vegetarian and that the smell of bacon comes from the smoky flavouring used in the sauce.
Now most people, even those of us with religiously restricted diets, would accept this explanation and would in any event carefully read the ingredients on the label in order to double check before we bought the item. This is common sense. If a person has a religiously restricted diet then it is up to the purchaser to check whether the item is suitable, not the producer. It’s not the supermarket or the food manufacturer that is responsible for what goes in my stomach, that responsibility lies with myself.
Unfortunately Ms Ward seems to be possessed of neither common sense nor a sense of proportion and has gone on a public whine about the sauce. She’s not accepting that it is her responsibility to read the bloody label and nor is she just chalking the issue up to experience and thinking that she would be more careful next time which is something that a normal person would do. Instead she has embarked on a major public whine about this product and – surprise surprise – is seeking ‘compensation’ for being so ‘offended’.
I don’t think that she is entitled to anything. Not a refund, not an apology and certainly not compensation. She was the one who decided to pick this item off of the shelf and serve it up to her family. As many commercially made white or carbonara pasta sauces contain bacon or ham, if she is so observant then she should have steered clear of it in the first place and not bought it. Ms Ward is also whining whilst being completely unaware of the wide variety of bacon alternatives that are out there these days. These range from vegetarian bacon style strips right through to beef and lamb processed in a similar manner to smoked bacon. There are even Kosher approved ‘oink-free’ fake ‘bacon’ sprinkles that can be used to add the classic bacon taste to a Jewish Friday night dinner if that is what you want to do.
Before Ms Ward went and gobbed off to the Press, she should have done her own research into the sort of bacon alternatives that are now becoming popular in the vegetarian, vegan and Kosher markets. By screaming how offended she is Ms Ward has only succeeded in making herself look stupid by complaining about something without any grounds to do so. I get the distinct impression that this particular offendotron is grifting for a payout and that both Aldi and the food producer should tell her to take her complaint and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine. If Ms Ward is so worried about coming into contact with bacon then I’m sure that there are plenty of Islamic countries where she could move to. By doing that not only would she be assured that she was living in a bacon free zone, but she would also be able to be able to experience the other ‘delights’ of Islam, such as being forced into a mobile canvas prison and being treated like a third class citizen.
This is yet another of those cases where a Muslim appears to be ashamed of nothing associated with her death cult but offended by just about everything. This is a groundless complaint and it should be treated by everyone as groundless.
Today many educated Muslims want to leave Islam but are afraid that they will be killed by their fellow religionists. Hence the Muslims must be first shown a safe path so that they renounce Islam but does not arouse suspicion among their fellow Muslims. See http://sanatanaparishad.blogspot.in/
I agree there to a certain extent. Those who wish to leave Islam need to be protected from those who would murder them because of their apostacy
