I have spoken a number of times in the ‘Now That’s Why Pakistan Is A Shithole strand about the dire position of religious minorities in Pakistan. Because Pakistan is an Islamic state that means that Pakistan is run, or rather ruined, by Islamic legal mores. This means that there is a hierarchy of worth in Pakistan. There are Muslim Sunni men at the top, with women and children as possessions of men placed somewhere in the middle of the ‘Islamic stack. Members of religious minorities, both Muslim religious minorities such as the Ahmediyya and others such as Christians, Hindus and Sikhs, at the very bottom.
Being a Christian for example in Islam dominated Pakistan is a bit like what I imagine life must have been for a Black American during the worst periods of anti-Negro racism in the USA. Christians get the worst jobs, are denied access to equal justice, can be accused of nonsense crimes like ‘blasphemy’ by their social superiors and subjected to the most awful oppression. If I wanted a society to use as an example of a nation that treated its citizens in a blatantly inequitable way, then I would choose Pakistan to be that example.
This latest story of Islamic hatefulness from Pakistan shows that not even the Christian dead are allowed to rest in peace in this hell hole of a nations. According to a report in the Times of India (h/t ROP), a group of what the TOI called ‘miscreants’ desecrated Christian graves in a burial space in the Punjab region of Pakistan.
Some graves were destroyed completely and others it seems had the crosses defaced. This desecration of a Christian cemetery is yet another blow for Pakistan’s beleaguered Christian communities. The reason for the persecution of Christian’s both alive and dead is in Pakistan’s case very clear indeed. It is Islam and the hatred that this ideology engenders in its more backward thinking adherents that has caused the Christians and other Pakistani religious minorities to be treated like dirt.
The hierachy of worth based on race, religion and gender that Islam creates in the societies that it controls are almost guaranteed to produce the sort of monstrous religious and ethnic hatred that we see in Pakistan. Whilst I admit that no culture and no religion does not escape the taint of blood when we look at their histories, it is readily observable that Islam has never properly attempted to wash the blood off of their faith, something that other faiths have tried to do in the past. Islam is an ideology based on the ravings of a bad man and the hatreds that this man had for Jews and others. A bad seed, or a genetically damaged plant cannot produce a good and wholesome fruit. Islam is a bad seed by anyone sensible person’s reckoning. As we can see by observing Islamic societies, Islam and the cultures it creates, produces no fruit that the civilised world should consider to be morally or ethically edible.
