A while back this blog published a guest post on the subject of the Resisting Hate organisation and their activities by an author named Jacob. What this post said about this organisation rang alarm bells for me as I had seen this group and its purported supporters in operation and have had some dealings with them online myself.
Recently another author, Oliver, contacted me with a similar article, but one with more details about the activities of those who coalesce around the Resisting Hate label. I have seen the activities outlined in this piece much discussed online and can verify that the images posted below have been part of said discussions.
To give a quick précis to those unfamiliar with this story, Roanna Carleton-Taylor is the de facto leader of ‘Resisting Hate’, an organisation that describes itself as being opposed to all forms of hatred. However there have been numerous allegations floating round about the conduct of those associated with this organisation, especially stories of online bullying, doxing and using the authorities or claimed links to the authorities, as weapons against their opponents.
With tactics like these it should be of no surprise to readers that Resisting Hate is an organisation that is firmly on the Left side of politics. I’d go so far as to say that if you are a genuine small ‘l’ liberal, someone who wants to judge people on the content of their character rather than any immutable characteristic that they possess, then I’d give Resisting Hate a wide berth if I was you. I’ve seen stuff from Resisting Hate supporters that, in the eyes of the intersectional Left itself, would be beyond the pale.
Resisting Hate supporters and associates have mocked the disabled, made racialist comments and laughed at those with HIV/AIDS. One Resisting Hate associate has also poured scorn on those who are victims of the Islamic Rape Gangs that plague many of Britain’s towns and cities. They said that the victims of these gangs willingly submitted to them because they wanted ‘brown cock and fags’. This is very similar to the attitude that the police took to the thousands of victims of these Islamic Rape Gangs before the scale of the police’s abject failure to tackle the problem was revealed to the public.
There are also other matters pertaining to those said to be involved in Resisting Hate that Oliver is concerned about. This is the matter of those close to Ms Carleton-Taylor who are said to be producing some quite spicy BDSM porn. Now although what they are shown doing with themselves and their implements looks to me to meet the standard of BDSM that is safe, sane and consensual. But, there is something a bit yukky at least to me, about certain types of ‘age role play games’ allegedly engaged in by Ms Carleton-Taylor’s friends, as described by Oliver, being done in a BDSM setting. A lot of these games are relatively harmless but I think that mentally a person could go to a very bad place once they start playing games where the scenario is one where the female submissive is playing at being ‘underage’.
There’s a lot to be concerned about when it comes to the Resisting Hate organisation in my opinion. I think the BDSM thing is a bit of a side issue, although it will worry some that particular types of age play are said to be being engaged in by associates of those involved in Resisting Hate. The main issue for me and one on which I concur with Oliver, is the other activities that the group has been seen doing. Would and should groups that purport to represent LGB and T people, or who are involved in ‘fighting racism’ or other forms of prejudice, be associated with those who use a person’s immutable characteristics as a weapon against their victims? Sorry this is a long intro but there may be readers who are unfamiliar with the background to this story and to the views of myself and others regarding it. It bothers me in particular that some organisations, including those in receipt of public money, may not be properly vetting those individuals and entities that they partner with or which they promote. We can all fail to spot the arsehole in plain sight sometimes and hire or associate inadvertently with a ‘wrong’un’, but there is plenty out there from what I’ve seen to suggest that responsible and respectable organisations should have kept clear of the Resisting Hate crew.

No2H8Crimes is an organization that prides itself on “tackling hatred, intolerance and prejudice…” Groups who endorse them are among the likes of TellMama, Galop, Show Racism The Red Card, StopHateUK, TransMediaWatch, Stonewall, KickItOut, Anti-bullying Alliance, MenCap, and others. All of these groups allegedly stand up for people who might be considered disenfranchized or stigmatized in our society because of sexual persuasion, skin colour, or physical or mental disability.
Roanna Carleton-Taylor of Resisting Hate was nominated for an award by No2H8Crime in 2017. Her nomination is very hard to understand, as is the logic behind the person who decided to nominate her, given the fact that all she is known for is being a twitter troll who has for years run with, and protected, other trolls who are racist, homophobic, and who mock the mentally and physically impaired. These organizations, and their patrons and sponsors, really do need to be more vigilant in relation as to who they nominate for awards. Roanna’s nomination does nothing but cast a very sinister light on all of these people who apparently are trying to do some good for society. A simple glance over Roanna’s social media presence by any of No2H8Crime’s staff would have shown her for what she is – a wannabe bully and a hater.
Roanna’s husband and flatmate also make porn that is verging on the brutal. It involves women having enemas, having hat pins stuck through their breasts, their heads shaved whilst they are crying and are tied up, and, more sinisterly, the re-enactment of an ‘underage’ schoolgirl being inducted into the pleasures of sex by a much older man (Roanna’s husband). Roanna lives next door to a Primary School, keep in mind, and it was from her living-room couch upon which her husband and flatmate made a video where Roanna’s husband Sean took an electric prod to Roanna’s flatmate Alice’s vagina, that Roanna did a video interview with Fiyaz Mughal of TellMama. How very flagrantly rude and disrespectful of her.
When a person of Roanna’s calibre and character is given oxygen or endorsed by any organization that claims to fight hatred, that organization would do well to consider the damage that associating with her will do to their public image. They should also consider the damage that is being done to victims of bullying, homophobia, and racism by nominating people such as Roanna. This article is a call for any and all organizations who endorse or partner with or promote No2H8Crime to sever ties until No2H8Crime rethink their nomination process and start vetting anyone who is put forward for an award of any sort. Given the damage that nominating Roanna has done to No2H8Crime’s public image, this article is also a call for No2H8Crime to publicly explain the reason why they felt Roanna merited a nomination. Perhaps No2H8Crime would like to publicly distance themselves from her in a bid to prove to the UK that they truly are fighting hatred and not endorsing it.
