‘I’ll have a Gin and Political Bitterness please’.

Some of the members of 'Chuckers Cuckers' aka the Change UK Party

The future looks anything but bright for the Change UK Party aka ‘Chuka’s Cuckers’. They had a piss poor degree of support during the European Parliament elections and were trounced as the party of pro-EU toadying by the Janus faced Liberal Democrats. They are not bothering to stand a candidate at any forthcoming by-elections and the members of this group in Parliament, made up by Euro-Federasts such as Heidi Allan, Anna Soubry, Chuka Umuna, Mike Gapes and Luciana Berger, do not look as if they will even last that long as a party.

According to various reports on places like Guido and Politics Home, all is not well in the CUK party and they might be on their way to disbanding. Apparently meetings are being held and some members of CUK are considering defecting to the Liberal Democrats in order to promote their own brand of pro-EU political fellatio. The EU Parliament elections really showed up the paucity of support that the CUK party has and the Liberal Democrats really ate the CUK party’s lunch when it came to playing and I suspect that future contests that the Cuckers fight, if the party survives that is, will turn out similar results.

I would not be surprised to find out that one or more of the Cuckers would cross over to the Liberal Democrats. It would be fitting for those who plainly despise the democratic vote to leave the European Union choose to join a party that is neither liberal nor democratic, despite its Trade Descriptions Act defying name.

If the Cuckers do implode, something that seems more and more likely, then some of the members such as Chuka, will probably slither off to some well rewarded non-job in a Lefty NGO like David Milliband did. Mike Gapes will probably be replaced by a Labour / Islam party frother in Ilford and for some, such as Anna Soubry, the result will be a metaphorical glass of gin and a large dash of political bitterness. Her political career is effectively over and she’s killed her career with her own hand. She could have accepted the result of the Referendum by her constituents, but instead she thought that she knew better and became the sour disdainful face of the Remainiac campaign. She epitomised the arrogant and thin skinned political class with both her appearances and her willingness to use the police to silence a few idiot counter-protestors thereby giving them the oxygen of publicity.

There are some Cuckers whom I feel somewhat sorry for. Luciana Berger for example joined the Cuckers because her own former party, Labour, had become toxic and dominated by pro Islam policies, most notably a rise in Jew hatred since Corbyn took over the party. Ms Berger would have been better off standing on her own record as a constituency MP as an Independent. This could have had the effect of exposing the decline and hollowing out of the Labour party by the Islamists and the Far Left but would also have kept her away from a political vehicle that now looks as if it is doomed.

There have been many ‘contender’ parties spring up over the years in the UK who had the intention of challenging the ‘Big Two’ of Labour and Tory who have dominated politics since before the Second World War. Few of them have really got there and although they may have influenced the political scene and the policies of the Big Two, a lot of them have not lasted that long. However even looking at the life span of challenger parties, the CUK party have lasted a miniscule time in comparison. It took the old Social Democratic Party approximately seven years to fail and merge with the Liberals, it looks as if the CUK party will not last a year before falling apart.

I will not grieve for the loss of the Cuckers from Britain’s political scene because of what they mostly were, which were anti-democratic, pro-Brussels, cynical opportunists. We already have a party like that, it’s called the Liberal Democrats and their probably isn’t room on a crowded political stage for two parties of this type.

Bye bye Cuckers. It’s been interesting to watch this party, destined to be a minor footnote in history, rise and crash so swiftly.
