Someone once said that a “non-Muslim woman who converts to Islam is as stupid and as senseless as a Black person suddenly deciding to embrace slavery”. When I see stupid and deluded women embrace Islam because they are under the misapprehension that women are respected in Islam the above quote comes into my mind. This is because I know and understand how little respect women really have in the world of Islam. Although Christianity in some of its forms may encourage women to be home-makers and some Jewish paths separate men and women during worship, women’s position in Islam is by far the worst out of all the world’s major religions. A woman’s worth in Islam seems to be lower than the value of livestock and this Bearded Savage of the Day story from Uttar Pradesh in India illustrates that fact quite clearly.
According to a report in the Indian news source Sify News, a Muslim husband has unilaterally divorced his wife because she could not bear a son and so far had only produced daughters and as we all know, girls are considered as less human in Islam than boys. This case, which I’m afraid is not an aberration when it comes to Islamic gyno-hatred anegives the lie to the claim that women have respect in Islamic culture.

A case has been registered against a man for giving instant triple talaq to his wife allegedly after she gave birth to a girl child in Ayodhya district in Uttar Pradesh, Police said on Friday. Zafrin Anjum, a resident of Jana Bazar in Haider Ganj Tehsil in Ayodhya, was given instant triple talaq by her husband on August 18 after she gave birth to her second child, a girl.
The 23-year-old woman alleged that she was being harassed as her father could not fulfil her husband’s dowry demands. “Since the first month of our wedding, my husband started torturing me for dowry. When I gave birth to a girl I was given triple talaq. I demand justice,” she told ANI here. Anjum was married to Astikhar Ahmed in Nakatwara village under Maharajgunj limits in November 2018. A case has been registered based on the complaint filed by the woman.
For those who do not know the ‘triple talaq’ process is an Islamic procedure when a man can divorce his wife unilaterally, a right not extended to women when it comes to freeing themselves of abusive husbands. Ms Anjum is at least somewhat lucky that she lives in India where the broadly secular law enforcement system do seem to be investigating her complaint against her husband. If she lived in one of India’s neighbours, the shithole that is Pakistan, it is unlikely that the police there would do anything at all to help her and worse, she may be at risk of ‘honour killing’ for speaking out about her treatment.
The way that this woman is I’m afraid highly representative of how Islamic men and indeed Islamic culture itself treats women. It is for this reason, among a great many others, why Islam is not compatible with free societies that treat woman as being equal to men in most areas. Maybe those stupid, brainwashed, frankly moronical women who are thinking of converting to Islam should look at cases like that of Ms Ajum and think hard about what they are thinking of doing. This case should make such women reconsider whether they want to be treated as a human, as they would be in Western cultures, or as property as they would be in Islamic cultures.
