Today, for the first time ever – It’s ‘Asked by the village idiot’ question time

I have not been a regular listener to Prime Minister’s Questions from the House of Commons for a while mostly because of having other duties. However today I’m going to make a bit of time to listen to PMQ’s today as the PM Boris Johnson is away and it’s the PM’s deputy and the Labour leader’s deputy who will be taking their places.

Normally this sort of substitution would be a bit of a non-event but today is special, today the questions that would usually be asked by Jeremy Corbyn will instead be asked by Shadow Home Secretary Dianne Abbott. Knowing Ms Abbott’s record for hypocrisy, race baiting and her easily mockable lack of intellectual prowess, today’s PMQ’s could be one for the history books. As Sargon of Akkad said recently in a video (at 7:44), having Dianne Abbott taking a lead role in PMQ’s is probably the first time that a village idiot has taken such a big part in this weekly parliamentary event.

So set your alarm clocks for 12 noon and tune in or log onto your favourite Parliamentary coverage provider, sit back and enjoy what promises to be an entertaining and unusual session of PMQ’s. Let’s hope that Ms Abbott can display her expected levels of fiscal and numerical knowledge along with her well known less than sure grasp of factual data. This edition of PMQ’s could well end up as comedy gold.
