The interesting thing about Pakistan is that Islamic radicalism, something that is very pervasive in that country, is not confined to one particular demographic. It’s not something that can be seen only in the poor and undereducated groups or merely in religious zealots. It’s apparently everywhere and in every class and income band from those high up in the administration of Pakistan right down to uneducated peasants. This situation is no good for the average Pakistani citizen nor is it good for the region or the world as a whole.
It seems that even Pakistan’s most well known entertainers are getting in on the promotion of religious extremism act and one singer has even appeared in a fake suicide bomb vest in order to promote Pakistan and demean this country’s neighbour India.
According to a story on ASI an Indian news outlet, that has been relayed by the Religion of Peace website, a Pakistani singer donned the fake bomb vest so that she could troll India because of India’s policy on the disputed Kashmir region. I think that any reasonable person whether they are on the Clapham or the Delhi Omnibus would view this action as being supportive of violent extremism and terrorism. This is not something that I would do nor is it that anyone who I would hang round with would do, after all myself and my friends are not violent extremists.
ASI said that Rabi Pirzada sent out a tweet showing herself wearing the fake bomb vest which is being seen by many in India as a threat against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is not the first time that this singer has published threatening images aimed at India and Indian politicians. In one instance she showed a video of snakes and alligators attacking Mr Modi with text threatening a ‘reptile attack’ on the Indian PM.
Ms Pirzada has been getting pushback from internet users in India who have mocked the image of her wearing the fake bomb belt. Some of these online critics have called this garment ‘Pakistan’s national dress’ which is a reference to the allegations that the Pakistani state either supports or ignores Islamic jihadist groups on its soil.
This story, as I said at the beginning, does show that support for extremism is not something that affects the foolish or the unknown, but also those people like Ms Pirzada who could be said to be at the top of their chosen game, in this case in the entertainment industry. This is what Islam has done to Pakistan. The all pervasive and all powerful culture of Islam in Pakistan has indeed created a failed state, a failed state where religious radicalism is more than common and which is so accepted that images and videos of the sort that Ms Pirzada has published.
This the Country that is so backward culturally, it’s people living in relative poverty. Gets a grant of 100’s of millions from the UK government [who is borrowing money to pay for it’s own need’s] Yet Pakistan as the Islamic Nuclear Bomb.
God help the west if the Pakistani military lose control of these weapons of mass destruction
