As a small nation with not many natural resources, which gained its independence in the late 1940’s, Pakistan could have been a contender for greatness by turning itself into a dynamic high education economy. It could have, like another small nation that became independent in the 1940’s, Israel, invested in education, in human capital and in innovation and become a country that was greater than its land mass or its natural resources, through investing in its people.
Unforttunately the fathers of Pakistan, including Mohammed Ali Jinnah, didn’t choose that path. Instead they chose to base the country on Islam and by doing so have condemned its citizens to live in a retarded shithole. Instead of being a country run for the benefit of all its inhabitants and which was at peace with its neighbours, Islam dominated Pakistan seeths with hatreds and injustices and far from being peaceful, is a major danger to regional and world security.
Possibly one of the most dangerous things to be in Pakistan is a Christian or any other sort of religious minority such as a Hindu or a Sikh. Because of Islam’s inbuilt hatred of these faiths the position of members of religious minorities is precarious to say the least.
The latest story about the hellish life for Pakistani religious minorities comes via the Religion of Peace website and is sourced from Persecution an organisation that tries to speak up for those Christians who are living in fear of oppression. Pakistan is one of those places where oppression aimed at Christians is a far too common occurance.
Persecution said:
On November 10, a Christian home in the Al-Noor Town neighborhood of Lahore, Pakistan was set on fire by two unidentified arsonists. According to the Christian victim, the attack on his home is just the latest attempt to drive his family out of the neighborhood.
“I never thought we would face this much hatred for not selling our house,” Manzoor Masih told International Christian Concern (ICC). “It’s really heartbreaking and disappointing for a Christian living in this country.”
According to Masih, he and his family were on the ground floor of their home when neighbors shouted to them that a room on the upper floor had caught fire.
“I rushed upstairs, but could not save anything,” Masih told ICC. “The fire was extremely hot and it melted the stuff inside.”
According to witnesses, two motorcycles were seen throwing a packet into the window of the room that caught fire. Witnesses claim that the identified motorcyclists came from a Eid Miladul Nabi religious rally.
“It looks like they used some chemical which turned all the stuff into ashes within no time,” Masih explained. “The fire damaged beds, mattresses, furniture, trunks, cloths, crookery, fans, computers, the UPS, and the entire electric system.”
“For the last six months, different groups keep pressuring my family to leave this neighborhood and go to a Christian settlement,” Masih told ICC. “However, we never gave into their threats.”
This sort of oppression is sadly all too normal for Pakistani Christians. It’s instructive to note that when comparing Pakistan with another nation that was similarly situated when it became independent, Israel. In Israel, a nation built on Judaism, Christians have equal rights as do those of other faiths, whereas in Pakistan, Christians are treated like dirt. It is mostly Islam that has turned what was once a promising small nation, into a hell hole of monstrous proportions.
