As many regular readers of this blog will by now know, I was arrested on the 22^nd October of this year after a ‘hate speech’ complaint was made by one Fiyaz Mughal the founder of the Tell Mama organisation and head of the interfaith group Faith Matters. According to information that came out during the police interview the core of the complaint was about some memes on the Fahrenheit211 site where I am alleged to have mocked Mughal and the London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Another part of the complaint concerned criticisms on the Fahrenheit211 site of the hysteria that the Tell Mama engaged in with regarding the ‘Punish a Muslim’ day incident. At the time TM was giving the distinct impression to the public by way of their public statements that this was a sign of a rise in organised ‘Islamophobia’. The F211 blog on the other hand called this case correctly and ascertained that this was the work of one lone deranged nutcase who has since been gaoled not just for the letters but for committing fake chemical weapon attacks.

Before I continue with the update, I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has given me support over this case. I’d like to say thank you to all those who have shared my story, made videos about it and comments about it. Thanks are due to those who have contacted me both privately and publicly to offer support and to tell their stories of oppression of themselves and others by these disgusting and illiberal ‘hate speech’ laws. I’d like to thank from the bottom of my heart all those (I’ll not name you all for security reasons) who have contributed financially since my arrest. These contributions, for which I will be eternally grateful, will allow me to consult legal experts and also to replace some of the IT equipment that the police seized when they arrested me. I must say it’s been an interesting and nostalgic experience having to go back to the only computer available to me, Windows XP system for a while, but it’s not been an experience I want to continue LOL. I’d like to say thank you to all those who have taken an interest in my case and who have interviewed me for blog’s, websites, alt news outlets etc. I am completely gobsmacked by the amount of positive attention and support that has come my way since my arrest.

Now for the update. It’s been, at the time of writing, approximately three and a half weeks since I was arrested for ‘hate speech’. Since that time I have heard nothing from the police, no request to have an additional interview, no phone calls, letters or emails. There’s been no bullying communication to try to get me to disclose the passcodes of the IT equipment that the police took and zero requests for any further information. I have not, as yet, had any intimidation visits or communication from the police to try to stop me talking about this issue, something I expected. I have also had feedback from some of my contacts whose contact details were held on one particular device that was seized that there has been no attempt by the police to contact them or ask them for statements. This last point I find particularly odd as I know the Metropolitan Police can call on highly trained IT forensics experts who would find it quite easy to open any device no matter how fiendishly well password protected and would find it not much problem to open the device concerned.

I am still on unconditional bail pending investigation and have not been charged with any offence nor brought before any court. This sort of delay I’m afraid is par for the course in British ‘hate speech’ cases, where the State seems to see delay and obfuscation as normal. In Britain the process of investigation of these ‘hate speech’ ‘crimes’ is taken to be part of the punishment. Even if someone is able to convince a jury to acquit them at a trial, the ‘offender’ has still been punished by way of the process of investigation and prosecution. It’s the sort of procedure that we used to see in the countries of the old Iron Curtain but which has become common in Britain since the passing of ‘hate speech’ laws.

I have taken expert advice on how to proceed and have made Subject Access Requests to get hold of all data that the Metropolitan Police, West Mercia Police and my local Social Services have on me. The reasons for requesting this information from the police is obvious and the the data request to Social Services is due to what I believe is a malicious referral on ‘child safety’ grounds to Social Services by the police. I suspect that the police will try to stall on this data request, but I’m not letting this go. However, in contrast to the actions so far by the two police forces with regards to this data, the local Social Services department has at least put the request in motion through their systems. I am also at the initial stages (I’m afraid I do not want to say too much about this at present publicly) of preparing a case against the police of which I will give more details as and when that I feel that I can.

I’d like to thank again all those who have given extremely useful advice on how to proceed with this case and this advice has been extremely helpful during what has been an extremely worrying time. Thankfully my son seems to have got over the sight of seeing his father in handcuffs but I will still neither forgive nor forget what the police did on the 22^nd and the way they traumatised my family.

Please share details of my arrest and the reasons behind it far and wide, as far as I am concerned the more publicity about the operation of these appalling and easily misused ‘hate speech’ and ‘hate crime’ laws the better. These laws are I believe inimical to the idea of equal justice. I believe this even though, being Jewish, I am considered as part of a group with a ‘protected characteristic’ under Equality legislation and therefore could benefit from these ‘hate speech’ laws myself, I despise these laws because they are unjust. However despite being a potential beneficiary of these ‘hate speech’ and ‘hate crime’ laws, I still believe that these laws should be repealed as they do not treat all people from all groups equally.

If you want to help me fight the police on this then there are a number of ways in which you could do this. But first a request. Please do not contact any of the witnesses, complainants or police officers that have been named in connection with the coverage of this case. This will not only make things bad for me but also for yourselves. The most important thing is to share details of this case with others, especially on platforms from which I have been banned from such as Twitter. If you are British then I would advise bringing this matter up with your local Member of Parliament (whoever they may be after the election) and ask the necessary but awkward questions about the motivation of this arrest and the conduct of it. I understand that American readers of this blog have been registering their disgust at my arrest by writing to the British Embassy in Washington DC. I would most certainly advise people who want background to some of the characters in this drama and the organisations that they belong to to read Nick Monroe’s ‘Escape from Big Mother’ article which also deals with the parlous state of freedom of speech in Britain today. It’s an eyeopening read and one that should make people worry about the increasing influence of censorious Islamic groups and individuals in Britain’s administrative and political systems.

To conclude: Whilst I am grateful for the help that has been given to me personally, I would like to remind people that I do not fight for myself alone but for all the other thousands upon thousands of Britons who have been unjustly victimised by ‘hate speech’ laws that are rapidly turning into de facto ‘blasphemy’ laws. It should be remembered that in the year 2016 alone there were 3300 Britons who were either arrested or dragged through the courts for ‘offences’ that in the most part were little more than ‘hurty words’ that some thin skinned individual or group found ‘offensive’. Britain has turned from a country that once fought battles for freedom from oppression into a land where the population is cowed by ‘hate speech’ legislation into looking over their shoulders whenever they speak of a controversial subject. This situation needs to change. We need our freedom of speech back and these appalling ‘hate speech’ and ‘hate crime’ laws consigned to the dustbin of history where they belong.
