I saw this story linked via Guido. It’s from a Falkirk newspaper in Scotland and it’s a real doozy of a cock up by Labour.

A report in the Falkirk Herald has revealed that Labour has had to remove its candidate for the seat of Falkirk after social media posts showing that the candidate had promoted Jew hatred. Now what this Jew hatred is I’m not sure and none of the press reports on this subject seem to be telling us what it is. However, for the Labour Party to remove this Muslim candidate suggests to me that it must be somewhat serious, maybe giving support for Hamas perhaps?

Labour are trying to excuse this candidate’s selection by saying that the posts were in an old Facebook account that the candidate, Safia Ali, no longer used. As many people in the past have changed their views over various matters I’m surprised that Labour didn’t try to tough this out by saying that Safia Ali used to hold these views but no longer does so, this leads me to suspect that the comments were far worse than her stating that she didn’t like Jews very much.

This is a massive failure of vetting by the Labour Party especially as this woman is not exactly a walk-in to the party, she has a record of standing for elected office both for the Labour party and as an independent. I also believe that this woman would have been allowed to continue to stand had it not been for the furore over Jew hatred in the Labour Party. After all a Muslim woman in a hijab fully represents what the Labour Party has become and even with, or maybe because of, a background record of Jew hatred would have picked up the Muslim vote and the votes of bovine non-Muslim Labour voters who would vote for a dog turd provided it was wearing a red rosette.

It’s quite possible that in their urge to tick the correct ‘diversity’ box Labour in Falkirk either didn’t bother doing a full and detailed check on Ali’s background or they naively took Ali at her word when asked about her views of other faiths. It’s obvious that Labour are panicking about this and are scrambling to get into damage limitation mode as at the time of writing (14:10GMT) she is still listed on the local Labour party website as a candidate.

It is sad in a way to see how the Labour Party has gone in recent years. In the past if you wanted to name a party that contained neo-Nazis and other similar Jew haters then you’d be tinking of the British National Party or the British Union of Fascists and that is where you’d find the Jew haters. Today unfortunately if you want to find a party that is stuffed full of Jew haters then the Labour Party is where you would look.
