The new leader of the UK’s Labour Party has with some of his appointments to the shadow cabinet I’m afraid condemned his party to continued failure. This in my view is a bad thing for democracy as the type of political system that Britain has relies on having a governing party and what is termed a ‘loyal opposition’, which can criticise the government in the House of Commons and hold the government to account. In order for the opposition, whether it be Tories, Labour or some other party to be able to do this, the leader of the opposition party needs to appoint the best of the best in his party to take on the governing party.
I must admit I’ve been distinctly unimpressed with some of the names that Sir Keir Starmer the new Labour leader has included in his Shadow Cabinet. He’s brought back previous failed leader Ed Miliband as Shadow Secretary of State for Business and appointed thick race baiter David Lammy as Shadow Justice Minister. Sir Keir has also given a man with no financial background who is mostly known for engaging in political fellatio with Ilford’s Muslims, Wes Streeting as Shadow Exchequer Secretary and Rebecca Long-Bailey, a full on Corbynite Commie, as Shadow Education Secretary. This latter appointment of a deluded far leftist as Shadow Education Secretary should given any decent parent the absolute shivers. To imagine a Labour government future and what it will do to our children, just imagine Long-Bailey stamping on our children’s faces forever, not a nice prospect is it?
None of these appointments give me any sort of confidence that the Labour Party is going to turn into a sensible party any time soon. However for me, possibly the worst and most egregious appointment that Sir Keir has made has been give the job of Shadow Community Cohesion minister to the appalling Naz Shah the MP for Bradford West. Ms Shah has a long history of making outrageous statements and showing extremely poor judgement and her appointment will do nothing to allay suspicions that Labour has given her this job for the sole purpose of sucking up to Britain’s Muslim communities.
Naz Shah has in the past retweeted a tweet from an Owen Jones parody account that stated that ‘”Those abused girls in Rotherham and elsewhere just need to shut their mouths. For the good of diversity”, sent out a tweet that gave the impression that she approved of the terrorist technique of ‘necklacing’ that was carried out in Apartheid South Africa by African National Congress activists on opponents and also seemingly approved of the idea of destroying Israel and relocating it to the United States. All of these actions show extremely poor judgement and although I believe that anybody can make errors with words in their youth this excuse does not apply to Ms Shah. Many if not most of these statements were made whilst she was a Member of Parliament and that is something that should worry those who believe in good and sensible governance.
Ms Shah is to be quite frank, a bit dodgy and her loyalty to the United Kingdom has come into question, especially after a video emerged that was made prior to her becoming an MP where she banged on about how women’s role in Pakistani culture is better than in British culture. To those of us who understand just how badly women are treated in Pakistan her statement appears to be very much disconnected from reality.
It is more than likely to be the case that Naz Shah was appointed by Sir Keir Starmer in order to show Britain’s Islamic communities that Labour is still ‘their’ party and a party that will fight for Islamic interests. I dare say that this will make Ms Shah quite popular in a party that has openly abandoned the British working classes that the party was set up to serve, but it seems that she’s not exactly popular, as you will see below, with those outside of the Islamic community.
The Bradford Telegraph and Argus published what is basically a puff piece on Ms Shah and this elicited a vigorous response in the article’s comment section which now appears to have been closed to new comments. The piece in the Telegraph and Argus was basically little more than Shah tweeting out her pride at being made Shadow Minister for Community Cohesion with no background to the story nor any menton of her numerous previous errors or outrageous statements.
The comments, contained in the Appendix below, make all sorts of allegations about how Naz Shah isn’t doing her job properly and how she is failing to represent those of her constituents who are not part of Bradford’s Islamic community. Whilst I concede that many of these are merely allegations without supporting evidence, what is plain to see from the comments is that Naz Shah is none too popular outside of her own Islamic community.
I believe that the appointment of Naz Shah to this position is a grave mistake by the Labour leader and is a slap in the face to all those who have been victimised by Islamic Rape Gangs. You need someone with a record of good judgement to occupy such a sensitive Shadow Cabinet position and Naz Shah’s history in this area is really not at all good. This appointment is merely Sir Keir Starmer showing his party’s Islamopandering credentials rather than an appointment that will heal the increasingly widening divisions in our society. Naz Shah is a disgraceful individual and Sir Keir’s decision to give her this post is in itself disgraceful. Despite the party dumping Jeremy Corbyn, Labour still cannot see why many of us will no longer vote for or support this party and this appointment will do nothing to change the minds of British voters when it comes to the Labour Party.

6 Labour won’t win a general election for next 10 years, Bradford labour have the blueprint for corruption, clan politics and driving out opportunity based on merit.
