I was delighted to read over at the Longrider site that an attempt by authors that nobody has ever heard of and who are apparently deeply involved in the ‘cult of woke’, have shot themselves in the foot.
The authors, who were handled by the Blair literary agency, the same agency that handles Harry Potter Author JK Rowling, tried to put pressure on the agency over Ms Rowling’s support for women’s rights. The authors who nobody had ever heard of were angry at JK Rowling’s refusal to be bullied by what the transsexual commentator Rose of Dawn calls ‘Trantifa’, into giving unqualified support for the trans cause.
When their attempt to coerce and bully the agency to either censure or drop Ms Rowling from their books failed, these nonentity authors, one of whom is the author of a book called ‘The Trans Teens Survival Guide’, resigned from the agency. However, rather than abase themselves in front of the altar of the Cult of Woke, and cave into the crybullying of these authors or make ‘amends’ to them by making some ‘woke’ statement about how ‘trans women are women’, the Blair literary agency did what many other businesses should do, they stood up for freedom of speech.
The Blair Agency said that they were sorry to see the authors go but reiterated their commitment to freedom of speech and said that they refused to ‘submit to demands for re-education’. This was a massive two fingers up to the ‘Wokeists’ and a course of action that every other business that has been put under pressure by the Woke Cult should take. It probably helps that Ms Rowling is probably worth more to the Blair Agency than a bunch of Left wing authors that few people read and even fewer are familiar with. If other businesses that have allowed themselves to be kicked in the proverbial teeth by members of the Woke Cult, such as Gillette, the English Premier League, Kraft Foods, Greene King along with so many others, had taken the same course of action as the Blair Agency, then maybe these craven and cowardly businesses would not be subject to so much public opprobrium and mockery?
I do hope that this is the start of some sort of pushback against the Woke Cult because all surrendering to this cult does is alienate a companies regular loyal customers in order to pander to the Wokeists who not only didn’t buy their products in the first place but who also will not buy their products in the future. The bottom line is I’m afraid the bottom line. Companies need to sell their products to customers and a company that surrenders to the Woke Cult is liable to alienate the very people that want to purchase that company’s products. The Blair Agency has seen sense when faced with Woke Cult bullying and I hope that other companies faced with similar crybullying from the Woke Cult will do the same.
