This post mostly is for the benefit of this blog’s many Scottish readers and is also for their information and is regarding the plans by Humza Yousaf the Scottish Justice Secretary’s plans for an all encompassing and highly oppressive ‘hate crimes’ act. Whilst this piece is of primary interest to Scottish readers it is probably also of interest to readers in other parts of the United Kingdom because if the Scottish National Party get their way with this act and can impose restrictions on free speech and even more injustice on the Scots, then other parts of the United Kingdom may follow.

If you are Scottish I urge you most strongly to get involved in the fight against this pernicious ‘hate crime’ bill and prevent, if you can, this bill being enacted. Write to your MSP, take part in peaceful demonstrations and do the work to make your voice heard. If you don’t then imagine Humza Yousef stamping on your face forever, for that will be the end result of this bill passing. If this bill is enacted, and there is every sign that this is what the SNP want, then free speech and equal justice is dead in Scotland.
