As many regular readers will know by now, I have no great love for what many British police forces have become. As a lot of other Britons have done, I’ve looked with increasing alarm and disgust at the police. I’ve seen the rampant left wing political correctness, the refusal for years to tackle Islamic Rape Gangs in order to not upset Islamic communities, the idleness of too many officers, the unwillingness to tackle genuine crime and the politicisation of entire forces. Because of these issues I’ve come to the conclusion that Britons deserve much better, more equitable and honest policing than we currently get.
But, I’m not one of those who rabidly and without thought hate the police. Unlike some who have come to similar highly critical views about UK police forces as I have come to, I’m willing to support the police when they are in the right.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Cressida Dick. She’s just thrown several of her own officers under the proverbial bus in order to virtue signal about the Marxist Black Lives Matter movement and to pander to certain elements in Britain’s Black community.
What Cressida Dick has done is leave officers swinging in the wind even though on this occasion it appears that the officers were in the right. Many will recall how on June 4th officers patrolling the Maida Vale area of North West London stopped a car carrying a Black British athlete. By all accounts the police had good reason and it needs to be said a legal reason for the stop and search of the vehicle. The vehicle was said to be driving erratically, was on the wrong side of the road at one point and the driver failed to stop when asked or signalled to do so by officers. Any driver, no matter what their skin colour of background could and should have been stopped in that situation and as the actions of the driver were obviously suspicious, the police had a legal power to search the vehicle. If I, a White British Jew, had driven like that not only would I have been stopped and searched but have little doubt that the courts would have thrown the book at me.
But one of the occupants of the car, Bianca Williams, a Commonwealth Games and European Gold Medallist for relay racing, decided to play the race card. Ms Williams claimed that that the vehicle she was in was only stopped because the occupants were Black. I say what a crock of shit that claim is. As I said earlier, the sort of driving that was alleged to have occurred would have elicited a stop and search for just about anyone of any race or any station in life.
However, the story gets worse. The response of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick was not to stand up for her officers, not to look at the evidence and say that this was a legitimate stop and search, was to throw her officers to the wolves. Cressida Dick, instead of backing officers who appear to have been quite correct in stopping the vehicle containing Ms Williams, allowed the race card played by Bianca Williams to become a winning card. Cressida Dick went out and apologised to Ms Williams and the other occupants of the car for the actions of her officers.
What this means for ordinary officers on the street, quite a few of whom are expected to put themselves in dangerous and unpleasant situations for the benefit of all Londoners, is that none of them can expect any backing from the Met’s most senior officer. It means that even when an individual officer may be in the right when it comes to their actions, all it will take is a complaint by a minority whiner for that officer to end up in big trouble.
I would not want to be a Metropolitan Police force officer serving under Cressida Dick. This is because I would not be able to trust her to back me up when required. She’s probably the worst leader of the Met that I can remember and I can remember back to the days of Sir Robert Mark. Dick is even worse than Sir Ian now Baron Blair, who faced allegations that he was trying to politicise the force and who was involved in a number of scandals and who was criticised extensively for crass comments and the commissioning of questionable IT and PR projects.
After Cressida Dick’s unnecessary and damaging apology to Bianca Williams and others in the vehicle that was stopped and searched, I have even less confidence in Cressida Dick than I did at the end of last week and that confidence was pretty low even then. This lack of confidence in Dick must be even more keenly felt by front line officers of the Met who now know that even if they’ve behaved impeccably, their own Commissioner will sacrifice them for virtue signalling points. Cressida Dick has been a terrible Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police. She’s let down her officers and she’s let down ordinary law abiding Londoners. If this country was a country of true justice and Cressida Dick was a woman of honour, something I very much doubt, then she would resign immediately. Cressida Dick needs to go before she does further damage to the operational efficiency of the Met and to the morale of Metropolitan Police officers.
How and why is she even a police officer ? Quite apart from her cowardliness, untrustworthiness, and all-round uselessness – being in a sexual relationship with a junior officer is a sackable offence.
(The answer, of course, is that she was put there to do a job – and the job that she was put there to do, is to degrade and demoralise the Metropolitan police, and leave London wide-open to being taken over by the Sadiq Khans and Lutfur Rahmans of this world: I found a photo of Dick/Sadiq together, which I posted on FB with the caption, “The morning after the riots, the Red-Green Axis held a meeting to discuss the next step in the destruction of London.” I don’t think that I’m far off the mark…)
The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Cressida Dick. She is so Dickless, she should
have a operation called a “Strapacock,to me” & while she is at grow some balls & man up
to the situation. I thought that was what she was paid to do?
