It takes a lot to get Britons’ complaining about something, especially something on the Television. Mostly this is because the usual response from the public is to just mutter the words ‘what a load of old bollocks’ under their breath and either change the channel or turn off the TV.

This lack of willingness to complain is also compounded by how difficult it can be to express ones view about things. First you have to realise that what you are angry about is something worth complaining about, then you have to search around for whatever agency or organisation manages the complaint. Following on from that stage you need to find out what part of the particular agency or organisation your complaint needs to be addressed to and finally you need to actually compose and submit your complaint.

Because submitting a complaint about something that is broadcast can be onerous and time consuming it makes the 24,000 complaints to Ofcom about the shocking, politically bent performance by the dance group on the Britain’s Got Talent show ‘Diversity’ so remarkable. 24,000 Britons were so offended and disgusted by a dance performance that lauded a dangerous criminal called George Floyd and acted out a narrative about American ‘police violence’ against Afro-Americans that has been amply shown to be comprehensively dishonest. The Daily Wire, an outlet that although conservative in slant, is relatively honest, found that Black Americans were more likely to be cop killers than victims of unjustified police violence. Also, more Whites and Hispanics are shot by police officers than Black Americans.

The performance by the dance group ‘Diversity’ (a wholly unjustified name in my view as it is a group with little real diversity. After all where’s the Asian, far Eastern and White dancers in this misnamed group?) was based on a lie yet they were allowed to spew their bullshit to the public on prime time television. It was because this performance was based on a lie and also because the type of performance was considered as too political and inappropriate for a family show at prime-time, that so many Britons went through the convoluted process of registering a complaint about this performance.

The performance by this dance group on Britain’s Got Talent was apparently the second most complained about show since Ofcom was given responsibility for broadcast standards since it took over from the old Broadcast Standards Commission in 2003. The record for complaints is said to be an episode of the reality show Big Brother that had scenes of violence in it.

With so many complaints from Britons who were disgusted at this politicisation of the Britain’s Got Talent show, you would have thought wouldn’t you that Ofcom would sit up and take notice. Sadly you would be wrong on that. Ofcom has basically told the British people to FOAD with their ruling that ‘Diversity’ did nothing wrong. Below is a screenshot of the statement from Ofcom, a statement that merely says ‘piss off’ in a lot of words.

This should have been an open and shut case for Ofcom. There is plenty of evidence that the ’Diversity’ performance was political in nature and not the best fit for a family entertainment show. There’s also ample evidence to show that the narrative that ‘Diversity’ based their dance piece on, that Afro-Americans are disproportionally and unjustly targeted for death by American police officers is false. In addition to these reasons there is the matter of whether or not simulated violence is suitable for family entertainment?

Ofcom has just gone and shat on the heads of every Briton, whether they be White, Black or whatever, who disagrees with the BLM/Marxist narrative, with their decision. It’s an action of astonishing arrogance on Ofcom’s part, but one that maybe we should have expected. As Academic Agent points out in his video on the subject of Ofcom’s dismissal of public anger at the ‘Diversity’ incident, Ofcom is now dominated by the Left and has got fully onboard with the identity politics and diversity agenda. Academic Agent added that this is yet another example among many over the last half century or more where the government is out of step with public opinion, on matters as diverse as steel nationalisation to mass migration, but has done what they wanted anyway. The left wing takeover of Ofcom and its adherence to a damaging and dangerous identity politics agenda is one that has ruined so many other public sector bodies from police to schools.

I’m a great believer in the necessity of using legal and constitutional means to register complaints and to try to get change where change is necessary. I truly believe that the Parliamentary system, free speech and the ability to make our voices heard and listened to is the way to go. I’ve no time for plastic revolutionaries of either the Left or the Right who believe that trying to use the political system to elicit change is doomed to failure. However, Ofcom’s decision worries me greatly. The arrogance of Ofcom’s statement and its blatant dismissal of the public’s genuine grounds to worry about the Britain’s got talent incident is a bad sign that those entrusted with authority despise the rest of us and this could have a bad end and the sort of end that I do not wish to see.

Ofcom have shown that they are quite willing and able to tell the British public to piss off and imply that they are ‘racists’ for not wanting to see guff like the ‘Diversity’ performance on our screens. The arrogance with which Ofcom have treated the British people is denying Britons the right to peacefully an legally put right something they saw as a great wrong. Ofcom has failed a great test and failed it badly. It should have been responsive to the public’s mood but has failed to do so and it’s now time for this organisation to be broken up and replaced by something more honest and less willing to cleave to the Left.
