THIS is how to make a speech in Parliament.

I was incredibly impressed by the speech by Sir Patrick Swayne the Conservative MP in the House Of Commons on the subject of the government’s piss poor and tyrannical management of the Covid situation . He said what many of us believe, which is that the Government is engaging in scaremongering of the worst kind.

You can watch the speech below and Sir Patrick was bang on to speak of the scaremongering and the damage that the Government’s Covid policy and the Government’s complete dishonesty about this illness and how the policy has been a disproportionate cruelty to Britons. Sir Patrick made the very valid and sadly accurate comparison between Boris Johnson’s government and that of the Lord Protector Oliver Cromwell who tried to ban Christmas and who mused whether arming one in ten would see an end to Christmas.

Sir Patrick was also correct when he called on the Government to look at the Swedish experience in handling Covid and how much better this has been when compared to how Boris Johnson’s government has handled matters. Sir Patrick decried the evisceration of the liberties of Britons along with the complete and utter economic destruction that Boris Johnson has brought to the UK. I found myself cheering Sir Patrick in agreement when he voiced his disappointment at how Boris Johnson has turned out as a Prime Minister. Sir Patrick, like me, believed that Johnson’s major feature was as a libertarian, but instead he has turned out to be one of the worst tyrants that I’ve seen in a lifetime of observing British politics.

This was a classic speech and should be seen by all those who still parrot the now discredited and disgusting propaganda put by both the Government and the MSM over Covid. We need and deserve our liberties back. After all we are not facing a modern day Hitler or Soviet Union, but instead a disease that has only a 1% or sub 1% death rate among those who contract it and where the majority of deaths are confined to those population groups that are predisposed to being killed by respiratory diseases.

This is a speech that all MP’s who are concerned about bigger things than their own careers should be making. It is my no means as great as Sir Winston Churchill’s ‘fight them on the beaches’ speech nor as well crafted as Sir Geoffery Howe’s resignation speech nor Viscount Stockton’s speech to the Tory Reform group decrying excessive privatisation, but it is one which contains far more truths than anything put out recently by Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock or many others in authority.  If only there were more lions like Sir Patrick in the UK Parliament and less authoritarian pygmies like Johnson etc, then Britain and Britons would not be in the dire position we are now.

Well spoken Sir Patrick. It was a pity that Bojo and Handcock were not there to listen AND answer.

  2. Think his name is Sir Desmond Swayne. He is my local MP (in a guaranteed Tory seat) and is normally a party yes man. However, in this instance he shows that he is a real mensch (is that the correct term f211?)
