Housekeeping 25th October 2020

'I say Caruthers! It says here that Mr Fahrenheit has returned after a technical cock up. Fire up the new set of valves'

There will be some minor design and functionality changes to this blog coming up over the next week. Some of them will be so that access to this blog’s social media homes and secure email facilities will be much easier for readers to find. There will be a ‘social’ button to take readers to a list of social media outlets where this blog can be found. There will be some edits to the blogroll and features that are no longer being used or which have outlived their usefulness will be removed. I will also be dumping Paypal as a route for donations as I’ve become increasingly unhappy with the customer service that I have had from them. Instead I would like to direct readers who would like to help this blog financially to my Subscribestar page. Other donation methods, including at a future date Bitcoin facilities, will be introduced in due course.

There will also be a new policy with regarding video embedding. Because some video platforms are censoring political information at a faster rate than usual coming up to the US Presidential Election, rather than merely linking to videos that the Left then swiftly remove from the original platform, the video will be linked in the normal way but also downloaded and embedded here. This may mean that in some posts with video the video concerned may appear twice, the original linked video and the saved video. If you see this then it is not a bug, but a feature. The reason for the dual linking is so that readers can be assured that the video comes from the source that I’m saying it is from and also so that originators continue to get clickbacks if their original video is restored following complaints. It’s not a perfect solution to social media censorship and I hope that this is only temporary.
