You don’t have to be a committed political animal to know that the Labour Party is one of those parties that will pander to Islam at any opportunity. It has become an Islam party in all but name.
Labour is the party that was most enthusiastic about bringing in laws that forbade criticism of Islam, which promoted Islam falsely as a ‘religion of peace’, which has facilitated both Islamic migration to Britain and the creation of monocultural Islamic ghettos almost exclusively represented by the Labour Party. It has also been Labour run local authorities and police forces that have in the past been politically corrupted by the Labour Party, that have been at the forefront of hiding from the public first the existence of and then the extent of Islamic sex crime and Islamic Rape Gangs. Labour leaders, such as Jeremy Corbyn have lauded Muslim terrorists and have had strong connections with Islamic groups that hate the West and hate Jews in particular.
Therefore, because I know that Labour is a party based not, as it once was, a party based on protecting and representing the working classes, but instead based on ‘Islamopandering’ I was surprised to see an article on ITV news about Labour party ‘Islamophobia’. I thought: ‘Islamophobia’ in a Labour Party that has its tongues stuck so far up Islamic fundaments that they are tickling the local Imam’s tonsils, surely not?’
When I saw the ITV story my first reaction was ‘bullshit’ and it’s still a view that I hold about this story. This looks like some sort of power grab in Labour by Islamic interests using the ‘Islamophobia’ accusation as some sort of weapon.
Here’s what ITV news said. As usual the original text is in italics whereas this blog’s comments are in plain text.
ITV News said:
More than one third of the Labour Party’s Muslim members and supporters have witnessed Islamophobia within the party, according to a new report.
The report, conducted by the Labour Muslim Network (LMN), is set to be published this weekend and has been seen exclusively by ITV News.
It surveyed Muslim members and supporters of the party and found that 37% had witnessed Islamophobia within the party and 44% don’t believe the party takes the issue seriously.
Does anybody with an ounce of common sense or political awareness actually believe this? I don’t. It’s either dishonesty in order to protect or promote Islam or just plain bullshit. A major flaw with this article about this survey of Labour’s Muslim members is that there is no indication in the article about how big the sample size was for the survey or how the survey was conducted. For all we know it could have been conducted by Islamic activists in the Labour Party of Islamic activists in the Labour Party.
Some of the things that are being complained about are completely laughable. One Muslim person who was selected to fight a Parliamentary seat for Labour was told by a singular Labour member that ‘Muslims couldn’t be MP’s because of their propensity for violence’. Now this may be a crass comment but does it represent anything like the sort of hatred that Jews got and get in Labour, of course not. It’s relatively minor and could and should have been shrugged off by anybody who wants to join the rough and tumble world of politics. In any event what is wrong with saying something that has a large degree of truth in it which is that Islam is by its own actions and its own theology, very closely associated with violence? If Islam is associated with violence in the minds of the public and some Labour Party members then the only ones to blame for that are Muslims.
The usual far leftist suspects in Labour’s Muslim quarter have also climbed upon this bandwagon.
Labour MP Apsana Begum, who was elected to the House of Commons in the last General Election, said she has faced similar issues, adding that the party “has been in denial” about the problem.
“It’s quite regular to be asked questions and to constantly be asked to reaffirm my commitment towards British society as if in some way my identity and politics are not compatible,” Ms Begum told ITV News.
This is another of those ‘she would say that wouldn’t she’ situations. She’s just another moaning Muslim individual who cannot get it into her head that if she wears the symbols of and follows an ideology that is opposed to the Enlightenment values of the West, then she’s going to get questions about it and her allegience to Western values. An Orthodox identifiable Zionist Jew, a practising and committed Roman Catholic or a Calvinist ‘Wee Free’ church member would get the same questions aimed at them about commitment to British society and about the compatibility between religious identity and politics. It may be annoying to get such questions, especially when these questions are baseless, but getting such questions is I’m afraid part and parcel of living and practising politics in a free society. It strikes me as extremely thin skinned of Ms Begum to whine about this.
I don’t for a minute believe that there is any sort of Islam hating culture in the Labour Party. On the contrary, Labour is a party where Muslims and their beliefs are promoted within the party even if this promotion is to the detriment of others. I’m going to classify this survey quoted by ITV as bullshit until it can be proven otherwise. In all my time observing politics and including living in a number of Labour run areas, I have seen nothing that would lead me to believe that Labour is anything but a bunch of Islamopanderers. This story is to all intents and purposes a nothingburger and may well be connected with Islamic interests wanting to get even more control over Labour than they have already.
I would imagine there will be many working class members who are anti-muslim – I wonder how many Tommy R supporters are Labour members/voters, I’d say many
As for the examples, it’s the usual race-baiting by woke Left interpreting anything they dislike as an isim or phobia
However, one Left supporting group do have questions to answer – your fellows voted for their enemy again
The Presidential Election
.
OT: FYI
This is not even the tip of the lunacy that is about to be unleashed on people who think for themselves
I agree that there are probably Labour members and voters whose views are probably similar to those held by Mr Robinson. The working class Left (or what’s left of it in Labour) will be acutely aware that although individual Muslims may be fine fellows the ideology of Islam is to say the least, questionable.
Not surprised to see the Mennonites being harassed by Canada’s leftist government. We are seeing similar here with churches being raided but some other faiths left alone.
Re the Jewish vote in the USA, this is to me a disappointment but somewhat expected. The Jewish community in the USA is markedly different from that of the UK. In the USA the vast majority of Jews are of the Reform/Reconstructionist/Liberal type with Orthodox Jews, the ones likely to vote Republican, in a minority. In the UK it’s the other way around with more Jews being Orthodox and therefore more likely to tend to the political Right. A lot of US Jews are not even engaged with Judaism for them Judaism is just an ethnic box to tick on a form.
Like you I also worry about freedom of thought.
“Muslims couldn’t be MP’s because of their propensity for violence’…what is wrong with saying something that has a large degree of truth in it which is that Islam is by its own actions and its own theology, very closely associated with violence?”
Ah, but F211, we both know that truth is no defence against claims of “Islamophobia”. As per “The reliance of the Traveller” and in line with UK Hate-speech laws it is slanderous to say “something that a Muslim does not like”.
In an Honour-shame society truth has no bearing on the matter.
And that is what our legislation promotes.
So I don’t doubt that Labour has “Islamophobes” within its ranks. It’s rather hard to hold an honest, educated, historically literate opinion about Islam without being deemed an Islamophobe after all.
What these Muslims are complaining about is really really minor stuff. The sort of stuff that members of other groups have got but have overcome by being good and effective representatives or candidates and thereby silencing the critics by being seen as and proven to be decent.
I completely agree that ‘Islamophobia’ has been used to describe anything that a particular Muslim doesn’t like.
