A couple of months ago I decided to have a break from blogging, frankly I’d got a bit of writer’s fatigue and wanted to take some time away from writing to do other things. So, what have I been doing whilst I’ve been away. Well on the personal side it’s been mostly family stuff and DIY and gardening. I’ve been playing with radio, getting involved with poultry and reading. With DIY I had an absolutely brilliant skip find in the form of a set of double gates in wrought iron that only need new hanging pins and a coat of hammerite to look brilliant. I was quite shocked to find that if I wanted to buy a similar set of gates from a gate supplier I’d be looking at at least £300 which means garden somewhat beautified and a saving of about £260 as I’ve spent £40 on fittings. I’ve not been doing a lot of dx’ing on the radio just chatting locally.
I’ve decided to come back to writing but not to the degree of output that I had had before. Turning out up to 3k words per day and doing everything else I have to do is a recipe for burnout. Writing had become unenjoyable especially as many of the things that I write about are often traumatic, nasty or related to ROPER related knobwittery. I have found that taking time away from writing has refreshed me and I’m finding that the tyranny of the blank page is more of a challenge rather than an unbeatable tyrant.
I realise that there are a number of comments on here that have by necessity gone unanswered or not commented on but I will get around to these when I can. I might only be writing one or two items per week to avoid the burnout that I had suffered from before, but I will be writing again. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all those who have sent me good wishes and digital hugs, these are all very much appreciated.
Glad you’re back. Am Chai Yisrael.
Thank you. Am Yisrael Chai!
Welcome back.
Thank you. I just had to recharge my batteries and take some time away from the cesspits of savagery that I have to dig into in order to write.
Welcome back.
Thank you
