A channel recommendation – Religion for Breakfast

There’s a You Tube channel that I’ve started to watch more and more because not only is it scholarly on the subject of religion, but because it tends to avoid sensationalising issues about religion that some commentators do.

The ‘Religion for Breakfast’ channel is as near as damned the most unbiased and intelligent collection of stories about religions, religious practises, religious history and controversies that I’ve managed to find. It covers in depth matters pertaining to early Christian and Jewish religious history as well as other faiths. Religion for Breakfast looks into such issues as the creation of religions, the difference in modern day and historical practises and how and why these practises changed. There are also fascinating explanations as to how the concept of The Devil came into Christianity via particular readings of certain Jewish texts that were in turn influenced by contact with the Babylonians and their religious ideas.

All in all if you are looking for a sensible and well rounded look at world religions then you probably can’t go too far wrong by looking at the output of the Religion for Breakfast channel.
