The Home Office has let Londoners down again. For reasons of ‘continuity’ the Home Office has agreed to extend the contract of Metropolitan Police Commissioner Dame Cressida Dick.

What this decision means is that Londoners will continue to be policed by a person who is motivated not by the idea of effective policing for all but who is motivated by politics. London’s Black community especially will be hard hit by this awful decision to keep Dick in post. The Met will now continue to fail to stop young Black Londoners from stabbing each other to death over minor conflicts whilst also continuing to be more concerned about hurty words on places like Twitter.

More Met officers will be encouraged to take the knee for violent Marxist mobs. More Met officers will be encouraged to be cheerleaders for the extremes of the misogynist trans cult and less officers will be seen on the streets carrying out the sort of policing that all Londoners, no matter what their race or faith want to see.

Londoners are a whole lot more unsafe because of the Home Office’s decision to give Dick an extension. She should have been replaced by a senior officer from outside of the Met, someone who could have been a new broom that could sweep away many of the alleged problems that the Met suffers from such as corruption, inefficiency and political bias. Sadly this has not happened and Londoners are now stuck with this appalling police leader for another two years.
