I get on well with many Christians despite not being Christian myself. But where I part company from them ethically, spiritually and politically is over the obsession that some Christians have with Satan. This sort of obsession with trying to find Satanic influence in everything and anything is completely warped and these dodgy obsessions often end in tragedy. We can see from the various false Satanic Panic abuse scandals over the years, such as the McMartin Preschool case in the USA and the Rochdale and Hampstead cases in the UK that a lot of innocent people have either been imprisoned or harassed by what I term ‘Satan sniffing’ activists who have bought into conspiracy theories about gangs of Satanic paedophiles abusing children. In all these cases there was no evidence of any form of organised ritual abuse going on and innocent people got smeared and many of the victims of these smears now cannot live normal lives as a result.

Those who may have thought that the ‘Satan sniffers’ had gone away, consigned to the history books or justifiably gaoled as in the case of Hampstead ‘Satanic abuse’ obsessive Sabine McNeil are sadly mistaken. The rise of the Q Anon cult that posits the idea that humanity or rather America is ruled by baby eating Satanists and conspiracy theories such as that of Pizzagate which falsely claimed that a pizza restaurant in the USA was centre of ‘satanic paedophiles’, have sadly brought this Satanic Panic bollocks back into the minds of those who are tempted to believe such rubbish again.

Unlike in previous episodes of Satanic Panic, which often originated in American extremist Christian religious movements and because of a misunderstanding of things like neo-Paganism by social workers and journalists, today’s Satanic Panic has a definite flavour of anti-Semitism to it. You can see for yourself by looking at some of the more free speech oriented parts of the internet which don’t censor these nutcases but instead let them speak and more importantly let them be challenged and where necessary mocked.

In these places you can find Christians who are obsessed by the idea that Satan is working in the here and now and all too often these Christians end up disappearing down a rabbit hole into a literal ocean of bullshit beliefs, including Q Anon and Pizzagate style bullshit. At the bottom of this rabbit hole are the dregs of medievalist thinking about Jews. There you will find lunatics wibbling on about how Jews are controlling the banks, Jews are controlling the press, Jews controlling government and Jews as servants of Satan. I’m sure that you know the sort of rubbish I’m referring to here. But the sort of Satanic Panic knobwittery that has arisen in the United States and is in my view linked to the rise of the Q Anon, is starting to look worryingly like the medieval ‘blood libel’ against Jews which accused Jews of murdering Christian children in order to provide blood for religious rituals. The blood libel is a line that should never be crossed but some American Satan Sniffers have crossed that line and in one case one of thee deluded Satan Sniffers has committed a murderous attack against Jews because of their delusion.

According to a report in the Daily Mail from a few days ago (h/t Gnasher Jew) a Christian religious maniac, obsessed with Satan, murdered a Jewish lawyer and severely injured her husband in a gun attack on the couple who the attacker was convinced were ‘Jewish Satan worshippers’ who were ‘carrying out abortions by magic’.

The Daily Mail said:

According to court documents seen by a local news outlet and quoted by the Mail, Alvarez was described as a ‘religious extremist’ (no shit Sherlock), obsessed with seeing Satan everywhere and who believed that the couple he targeted had voted for Joe Biden.

The Mail added:

Alvarez is said to have told investigators that he targeted the Kaufmanns’ home because he believed that he was ‘executing and exterminating the pro-choice Jewish Satan worshippers.’

The home is located on the 3000 block of Copper Avenue near Memorial Park.

Alvarez told police that he zeroed in on this specific area because he believed that the park was being used as a ‘ritualistic satanic ground to conduct abortions by manner of magic.’

According to the arrest affidavit, Alvarez was convinced that the families who lived in the four houses on the corner of Raynor Street and Copper Avenue near the park were part of a satanic cult.

There’s a lot to unpack about this case but much of it points to the defendant probably being attached to the Q Anon cult as well as being a religious extremist who hated Jews. There’s the obsession with Satan, the obsession with the idea that those who are pro-choice as ‘Satan worshippers’ along with the completely batshit crazy belief that the world is run by baby eating paedophiles, all of which point in my view to the defendant aligning with Q Anon beliefs. Add in the obsession that the defendant appears to have with the idea that Jews are destabilising American society via abortion and you have the perfect conjunction of the lunacy of Q Anon and the medieval blood libel belief that Jews are out to kill children for some nefarious purpose.

I’ve always been of the opinion that those who believe in the Q Anon cult and their view that former President Trump is fighting a spiritual battle against ‘Satanic Paedophiles’ are unstable and deluded fools who have the potential to be very dangerous. Sadly with this case of the religious extremist who murdered a Jewish lawyer and severely injured her husband, it seems that I have been proven correct in my belief that the Q Anon cult or those adjacent to it will produce demented murderers. François-Marie Arouet, the French writer and philosopher better known by his pen name Voltaire, once said that ‘those who can make you believe in absurdities can also make you commit atrocities’ is a very apt one to describe both Q Anon, those who follow Q Anon and those who commit terrible crimes because they have been brainwashed into believing the falsity that ‘Satan is everywhere’ and that Satan’s followers are killing children.

I would be completely unsurprised if at some time in the future, possibly during the trial of Alvarez, that stuff comes out about how he became radicalised and that some of the material he was radicalised by is related to Q Anon lunacy. If you believe that President Trump was not merely a half decent US President and instead believe that he was sent by the Divine to fight Satanic Paedophiles, which is what the Q Anon types believe, then you have left the path of logic and reality and are heading for somewhere very dark and nasty indeed.

I would also be not at all surprised if it turns out that Alvarez has untreated Mental Health problems as you would have to be more than a little mad to believe what he believed in. There is something to be said for Gnasher Jew’s view that when those who are mentally ill become attached to conspiracy theories it doesn’t take them long before they start to believe and start to cleave to conspiracy theories that involve Jews or Jewish control of the world or Jewish criminality.

The mad will believe mad things, whether it be the belief that 5g telecoms are mind control, Chemtrails are poisoning the world, Bill Gates wants to microchip everyone or that vaccines cause autism. Most of the people who believe such guff are harmless nutters who will not go out and act on their delusions. However, we should not be complacent and forget that for some of these conspiraloons talking about ‘vaccine genocide’ or how the Jews are hiding the fact that the Earth is really flat (yes some of these loons do indeed believe that), words are not enough. For those who have left the path of reality a long way behind them, there is always the possibility that they might want to put their delusions into action and carry out the sort of appalling crimes such as the one committed by Alvarez in Texas which left one person dead and another with life changing injuries.

Conspiraloons should in my view always be debated and where necessary be mocked, but we must always be aware that some conspiraloons are dangerous and should be treated as such. We should be especially aware that those who promote the blood libels about Jews, libels that caused the deaths of tens of thousands of Jews in Europe’s past, are probably more likely to carry out acts of violence than then normal conspiraloon who believes rubbish such as that aircraft condensation trails for example are evidence of mass worldwide drugging of the population by the ‘elites’. I have always had a very low tolerance threshold for conspiracy theories because I know where such lunacy can lead and in the case of Alvarez it has led to murder.
