When I saw the horrific story of a man engaged in a mass killing spree in Norway using a bow and arrow as a weapon, my first thought, not wanting to jump to conclusions of course, was that this perpetrator must be some sort of deranged lunatic taking revenge on the world for some imagined slight. Turns out that this wasn’t just a common or garden lunatic, this was an Islamic lunatic.

Yes, it’s another of those ‘not the Methodists’ but something also beginning with ‘M’ incidents. The perpetrator has turned out to be a 37 year old convert to Islam, proving that you don’t have to be a violent headcase to want to join Islam, but it might well help. Unsurprisingly this savage also turned out to be on a terror watchlist as well. Maybe we should nickname this latest example of Islamic savagery ‘Robin Moham-hood’. I must admit that this is the first time I’ve come across an Islamic terrorist using a bow and arrow as a weapon. Maybe he could not get access to a truck of peace or a bomb of peace, a knife of peace or even an AK47 of peace?

The Sun newspaper said:

NORWEGIAN cops have confirmed a bow and arrow attacker who last night ruthlessly slaughtered four women and one man was on a terror watchlist.

The 37-year-old Muslim convert unleashed a 35 minute killing spree in the town of Kongsberg as cops desperately hunted him down following reports he was randomly targeting people.

The horrific attack unfolded in the small town of Kongsberg, home to about 25,000 people 50 miles west of Oslo after about 6.30pm local time.

As well as the five killed, two were wounded.

The suspect, who lives in the Kongsberg area, has been held in custody, had has admitted he carried out the attacks. He was believed to have been acting alone.

Today Norway’s domestic security agency, known by its acronym PST, said the incident appears to have been an act of terrorism.

Yet again we have an Islamic terror attack in Europe and yet again we have a convert to Islam behind it. At what point to our governments start to tell the truth which is that although there are many Muslims who are peaceful, the same cannot be said for the ideology of Islam itself?

It’s odd isn’t it that every year thousands of people decide to join or change religion but we never hear of a convert to Anglicanism, or Methodism, or Hindusim or Judaism suddenly deciding to self radicalise using religious texts and going out and killing people. It’s nearly always those who choose Islam who end up becoming terrorists. Maybe there’s something about the ideology of Islam that attracts violent and unstable people which is not present in other faiths? I’ve met plenty of people who’ve chosen to follow Hinduism or Judaism and the worst you are likely to get from them is a request for veggie food or a look of horror at being offered a cheeseburger respectively. Never a hint that the person will become a raging terrorist though, it’s only those who choose Islam that do that.

Another day, another convert to Islam and another big pile of dead bodies. Sadly this pattern will not stop until governments start to realise that whilst many individual Muslims may be fine fellows and good citizens, that there is something rotten in the ideology of Islam itself.
