There’s been an interesting article I’ve seen in the Jerusalem Post about an action by the British government that is quite frankly not before time. According to the Jerusalem Post the UK Government is going to pull funding from ‘Palestinian’ schools on the grounds that these schools are teaching hatred of Israel and inciting jihad and terrorism.
The Jerusalem Post said:
The British government announced on Thursday that it has stopped funneling direct funding to Palestinian education, as revealed by the NGO IMPACT-se.
The announcement was made in response to an inquiry by Labour MP Andrew Gwynne and Secretary of State for Middle East and North Africa James Cleverly to review UK funds allocated to Palestinian education.
I say well done to Mr Cleverly and Mr Gwynne here. It shows that the UK government is willing to do what is necessary to stop the ‘Palestinians’ from indoctrinating their children into wanting to kill Jews. It also shows that there are some Labour MP’s who are not screaming Corbynite lunatics when it comes to the issue of the Middle East.
The Post said that over the last five years a total of £137 million has been spent by the UK government on funding for ‘Palestinian’ educational and health initiatives. There have been concerns for some while, mostly from the EU, that money being sent to ‘Palestinian’ schools was being used to incite terrorism and although this cut is not officially linked to the EU report on that matter, it’s interesting that this decision comes after the EU report on the misuse of funding by the ‘Palestinians’ is published.
Personally I don’t think that this cut in funding goes far enough. Britain is still contributing a great deal of money to the UN agency that is supposed to help those in the ‘Palestinian’ areas despite there being numerous allegations that schools run by the UN agency in the region UNRWA are promoting and inciting hatred and violence. In one report from UN Watch it was found that UNWRA schools were ‘celebrating Hitler’ and ‘promoting Holocaust denial’ to children. I believe that as well as cutting this educational funding the UK government should also be looking to stop funding UNWRA as well.
Hear hear, not before time.
It is indeed the correct decision. It should have been done years ago in my view, before the British government wasted nearly so many millions of pounds on funding the extremists via the back door. I can’t help but wonder whether this decision had been not made in previous years because of the influence of the ‘Camel Corps’ ie the extremely pro-Arab FCO? It’s still galling that the UK is still funding the equally odious UNWRA but that is a battle for another day.
