The name of the town of Rotherham in the North of England is one that has become synonymous with the bestial activities of rape gangs who are mostly made up of Muslim men. For decades these Islamic Rape Gangs sexually exploited thousands of children and young women with almost nothing concrete done to stop their activities by either South Yorkshire Police or the local authority.
Eventually there was a wide ranging enquiry into the Islamic Rape Gang phenomenon that was afflicting Rotherham and this enquiry established that at least 1400 children and young women had been exploited in the Rotherham area. The results of the enquiry, which when published was entitled the Jay Report after the enquiry’s chair Professor Alexis Jay OBE, should have seen big changes in how reports of child sexual exploitation were handled by both Rotherham Borough Council and South Yorkshire Police.
Unfortunately, according to a briefing paper put together by Rotherham Council’s Conservative Group of councillors, not much seems to have changed. There are still ‘Asian’ (by which we should read more than likely Muslim) men abusing vulnerable children and young women and a lack of proper action against these crimes by either the Police or the local authority.
Reading this briefing paper, which I found via the Twitter feed of Baroness Claire Fox and which has been published by the leader of Rotherham Conservatives Emily Barley, I’m struck by how little has changed in Rotherham following the Jay Report. Children and young people, both girls and boys are, just as before the Jay Report was published, still being targeted for abuse in fast food shops, public parks and other venues including private homes. Also some of the high profile measures that the council took to curb the activities of the Islamic Rape Gangs in the area plainly have not worked or are being ignored. One good example of this is the council’s tightening up of the regulations regarding taxis and private hire car services following revelations that Muslim taxi and private hire drivers were heavily involved in the abuse of minors and other aspects of child sexual exploitation. This has not worked. The abusers have either switched to using private cars to find and abuse children and young people or have continued to use taxis and hire cars and just ignored any legislative or administrative changes that the council has imposed.
The state of play for children and young people with regards to child sexual exploitation and specifically child sexual exploitation by what appears to be mostly Muslim ‘Asian’ males is still as dire as it was prior to the Jay Report. Below are a couple of screenshots of the Conservative group’s briefing paper showing what they’ve discovered is happening and the less than effective responses of either the police or the local council for Rotherham.
These terrible crimes were being committed by the same people over 15 years ago and were being highlighted by smaller right wing parties every day with nothing being done. Did the powers that be go after the criminal gangs? No they went after the people highlighting them, hence things are much the same today. I am sure that if the Home Secretary ever gets around to actually doing something instead of just pontificating we might see some action on these things. We will probably see flying pigs on the same day.
It seems nothing was done then, nothing is being done now and the Home Office wants to obscure both the scale of the problem and the fact that bugger all is being done.
