It took centuries for women in the Western world to obtain equality with men. It was a hard won fight that involved almost uncountable numbers of brave and driven women and their male allies to create a situation where women were seen as equal in rights and in the area of competence to men. It’s easy to forget that in Britain at least we’ve gone from a situation where women were expected to give up work when they married to one where women are accepted as equals in nearly ever single field of employment no matter what their marital or parental status or their sexuality may well be. It hasn’t been an easy fight, there have been a lot of casualties on the way among women who tried to gain equal access in the past to things like the professions but who were kept out by a male dominated establishment.
The rights that women gained at such struggle and at such great cost should have been rights that women enjoyed in perpetuity. Unfortunately this has not been the case. Women’s rights are being harmed by something that only a few people a very long while ago saw coming and that is the rise of the Cult of Trans.
The Cult of Trans is pushing women out of places that they previously had the perfect right to call their own and these places range from jobs that should be legally set aside for women such as rape crisis counsellors right through women’s sport right up to girls and women’s toilets. We’ve now reached a situation where self entitled males can rock up in a specifically women’s space and take it over, provided of course that they ‘identify’ as women. These men don’t have to actually do anything like go through a complete sex reassignment process, they just have to say the magic words ‘I identify as a woman’.
It’s bad enough when adult women find that because of the Cult of Trans they are excluded from those parts of society that are specifically set aside for women, but it is far worse when girls are being afflicted by the problems that are being caused by the Trans cult. A good example of how girls are being negatively affected by the Cult of Trans and those who wish to pander to this cult comes from Scotland.
According to a report in a regional newpaper, The Southern Reporter, girls at a Jedburgh high school are so disturbed by the decision of the school management to install gender neutral toilets that they are engaging in potentially dangerous practises in order to avoid using these toilets. The report states that girls are avoiding using the toilets by cutting back on the drinking of fluids so as to lessen the chance that they will need to have to use a toilet that is shared with teenage boys.
Now I was once a teenage boy. I know how disgusting and disgraceful teenage boys, including myself at the time, can be and for this reason I cannot see any justification in allowing teenage boys access to toilets where girls may be present.
Here’s part of the story from the Southern Reporter.
Male pupils at Jedburgh Grammar Campus have been seen “waving sanitary products like flags” inside gender-neutral toilets at the school, it was claimed at a meeting today (November 25th).
Boys have also been spotted urinating in sanitary bins at the school, it was alleged.
Additionally, girls at Kelso High School have been avoiding going to the toilet because of their unease at sharing the unisex loos installed there.
The allegations were raised by Galashiels and District councillor Harry Scott at a meeting of Scottish Borders Council.
Mr Scott said he had received the reports from “credible sources”.
He lodged a successful motion calling for pupils and staff at the new Galashiels Community Campus and Peebles High School to be consulted before any final decision is taken on also installing unisex loos at those premises.
It comes as debate rages on the rights and wrongs of gender-neutral toilets.
Opponents have raised concerns that women and children are more likely to be harassed and sexually assaulted in them compared to sex-segregated facilities.
But advocates argue that they eliminate confusion from members of the LGBTI (lesbian, bisexual, trans and or intersex communities) over going to the ‘wrong toilet’.
There are a number of reports from the USA, including the case of the girl who was sexually assaulted by a boy in a skirt in a school toilet at a school in Loudon County, Virginia near Washington DC, where ‘gender neutral’ toilets or schools that have a policy of pandering to the gender identity cult, have not worked out well for natal girls. In some States of the USA girls sport for example has been decimated as these sports are opened up for males who ‘identify’ as girls. Those who raise concerns about gender neutral toilets in schools or women being forced out of female only space are right to raise these concerns. Policies like those imposed in the Scottish schools mentioned above only have one loser and that is girls themselves. It is perfectly reasonable to prioritise the needs and concerns of the much more numerous natal girls than to pander to the tiny minority of roughly 0.15% – 0.3% of individuals who claim, whether rightly or wrongly that they have a gender disorder. Personally I’d rather one or two individuals (if it’s even that) who believe that they are something that they are not being made a bit upset by having sex defined toilets than have the 50% of the school population who are girls discomforted in the way that they are.
The Southern Reporter added:
Mr Scott said: “I appreciate the sensitivities around this issue. All young people and adults need to feel safe and comfortable in their surroundings and I understand the need to consider minority groupings, which is one of the drivers of installing gender-neutral facilities.
“Young girls going through certain changes in their life are entitled to extra privacy as far as toilet facilities are concerned. They should not have to share with teenage boys or men.
Spot on there Mr Scott. Puberty is pretty crap for many teens and I see no reason for making it worse for teenage girls by letting boys into a space that should be purely for them.
The Southern Reporter continued:
“I have heard from credible sources, not Facebook, that at Jedburgh there have been instances of boys waving sanitary products like flags and urinating in sanitary bins.
“Several girls at Kelso High School refuse to use the neutral toilets, going several days without a toilet visit, with risks to their health that accompany that and with some choosing to go elsewhere if they are lucky enough to have that alternative.
“These young people need to feel safe and to be able to use the facilities without embarrassment or anxiety, whether caused intentionally or otherwise, and while I’m fully in agreement of providing support to minority groups that support should be provided without detriment to others.
It appears to me to be the case that natal girls have been sacrificed on the altar of ‘inclusion’ and so that noisy and aggressive trans activists can be appeased. Gender neutral toilets are detrimental to young girls and to adult women who also may feel uncomfortable about sharing facilities with men. We can see this discomfiture and the wider effects of it not just in this Jedburgh case but also in the other cases in sport, women’s spaces and other facilities, where a desire to be ‘inclusive’ has ended up disempowering women and girls.
