Britain’s Jews don’t normally take to the streets en masse. Most Jews of my acquaintance just want to keep their heads down and get on with life. Of course individual Jews might demonstrate for their own particular personal political hobby horse such as members of the idiotic Jewish Left marching for the import of ‘refugees’ who come from cultures where Jew hate is a way of life. We’ve also seen right wing Jews of various types ranging from the moderate to the extreme demonstrating over the right of the State but it’s rare to see the Jewish community, at least in recent years demonstrating as a community over a particular community oriented issue.
There have been, to my knowledge, only three big Jewish community demos in the last decade one over the problem of mostly Islamic terrorism and another over the Jew hatred problems in the Labour Party. The third such demo is the most recent one which was I believe last night and took place at the BBC’s headquarters of Broadcasting House. This demo was over the BBC’s bent reporting of the Oxford Street Channuka incident where a gang of Muslims attacked a bus load of Jewish teenagers.
The Broadcasting House lie factory is still insisting that the people who were attacked on the bus were partially guilty of wrong speak by claiming that those attacked had uttered ‘Islamophobic’ words. The BBC is still making this claim despite there being a fair amount of evidence to show that this was not the case.
Various Jewish community organs and publications have tried in vain to get the BBC to acknowledge that the broadcaster has made a mistake. They’ve used all the various channels of communication that the community has with the BBC to try to get the BBC to see reason and accept that nothing untoward was said about the attackers either in English or in Hebrew. This has all been to no avail. Therefore various Jewish community groups have had to take the course of last resort and engage in public protest against the BBC.
What is specifically interesting about this demonstration is that it is supported by people who might not be expected to support such an event, people like the former BBC chairman Lord Grade and the actress and national treasure Dame Maureen Lipman. When you have people of this prominence and of this character speaking out against the BBC then it shows just what a serious problem the BBC and its bent reporting of the Oxford Street incident has caused.
Surely, the way that the Muslim mob were behaving it would hardly be a surprise if someone among the Jewish contingent said something negative about them. It says a lot that the BBC decided to mention it anyway.
Sort of related, climate alarmism sceptic Paul Homewood has recently called out the BBC for lying The BBC‘s climate editor has been censured for giving viewers an ‘inaccurate impression’ of wind farm subsidies.
“A viewer complained after Justin Rowlatt reported in June that the offshore wind industry was ‘now virtually subsidy-free’.”
Offshore windfarm subsidies are actually £3,500,000,000 per year.
It is testament to the restraint of the Israeli kids on the bus that something untoward was not said. I don’t think that I would have been so restrained. Yes the BBC has an appalling reputation when it comes to the climate issue, thoroughly one sided and dishonest.
