As many regular readers will know, I’m a monarchist. I’m a monarchist not only because that’s the way that Britain, with the exception of the Interregnum when Oliver and later, for a short while, Richard Cromwell were in charge, has always been run, but because it’s better than the alternative, which could be a President Blair or President Clegg misruling over us. Although I’m a monarchist that does not mean that I do not or should not criticise members of the Royal Family when they go awry. One member of the Royal Family who I’m afraid I have to criticise is Prince Harry and his habit of publicly engaging in wokery, eco scaremongering, making politically controversial statements and his general hypocrisy.
I’m not the only person out there who has criticised Prince Harry for these sorts of things. The conservative commentator Ben Shapiro quite rightly spears Prince Harry for his recent speech to a United Nations group where the Prince, who goes most places in a private jet, whinged on about climate change and, quite ironically bearing in mind he holds the hereditary position of being seventh in line to the British throne, moaned about the various ‘threats to democracy’. Prince Harry also decided to involve himself in the abortion debate in the USA, which is an already boiling cauldron he should have steered away from.
This Ben Shapiro video probably sums up what many people on both sides of the Big Pond feel about Prince Harry’s decision to involve himself in woke virtue signalling.
Here’s the video. Even if you are not a fan of Ben Shapiro you may well agree on some of his criticisms of Prince Harry.
I must with all due respect to your view and our present queen, who has been wonderful, say I honestly think the day of hereditary monarchy is over. The royal family should, after the queen, go quietly into retirement They may if they wish keep their titles, outfits and the medals the queen gave them but go off and be monarchs in name only at their own expense. I acknowledge we could for a while end up with a president Blaire (God forbid) but it would be the democratic will of the people who could replace him at the next election. Don’t forget were it not for an accident of birth Andrew would be the next king. It makes a real change not to agree with you for once 🙂
I agree with Roy, as replacing Her Majesty will be an impossible act to follow. The prospect of King Charles III is, in his own words, appalling. Princess Anne is the only decent one of that generation.
It’s little wonder that Harry has been indoctrinated with crazy woke nonsense – he’s had to endure this from Jug-ears throughout his childhood.
